Episode 24 recap: Huo Qing Yun Delays with a Fake Scroll
In Episode 24, after Huo Qing Yun marries Huang Bei Shuang, he neglects state affairs for seven days. Sha Qu complains but is hesitant to interrupt him. Ruo Wen believes that Fen Tian cannot remain idle for long and plans to attack Yun Pei to secure a place to survive. Ge Xin Wei suggests teaming up with Huo Qing Yun at Tian Du.
General Wu proposes an offensive on Tian Du, urging Na Zhan not to keep avoiding Huo Qing Yun's threats. Na Zhan responds by questioning Wu's chances of victory, aware that Huang Bei Shuang is still alive. He plans to use E Na Qi to threaten Huang Bei Shuang into taking action, intending to send a message to Tian Du to either receive a satisfactory reply or face a total breakdown in relations.
Ge Xin Wei is convinced that Huang Bei Shuang is alive and sends a message to her via carrier pigeon. Yun Pei demands that Huo Qing Yun hand over Huang Bei Shuang's body, threatening to reclaim the oasis of E Na Qi if he does not personally negotiate within three days.
Huang Bei Shuang believes E Na Qi now belongs to the people of Yun Pei, but she understands Na Zhan's character and is reluctant to put herself in a precarious position. Huo Qing Yun refuses to allow anyone to take Huang Bei Shuang, but she is wary of the potential for war between the two cities. Huo Qing Yun plans to manipulate the Great Desert Scroll to temporarily appease Na Zhan.
As Huo Qing Yun bids farewell to Huang Bei Shuang, he asks her to wait for his return. Meanwhile, Huang Bei Shuang receives a distress signal from Ge Xin Wei, urging her to help rescue Fen Tian from impending collapse. Huang Bei Shuang consults with Elder Rong, expressing her concerns that Na Zhan might uncover the secrets of the Great Desert Scroll.
Elder Rong reassures her that Na Zhan will not succeed. He recalls how he, along with Na Qi Da and Rong Ruo, constructed the scroll and handed the sixth volume to Rong Ruo, who has since gone missing. Elder Rong mentions that Rong Ruo disappeared in San Jiang City, where they discovered underground caves, believing that if Rong Ruo is alive, he would have left clues for Huo Qing Yun.
Determined to investigate personally, Huang Bei Shuang hopes to keep Huo Qing Yun in the dark, as he can help restrain Na Zhan. She replies to Ge Xin Wei, agreeing to meet privately, but states that she cannot make a public appearance. Ge Xin Wei fabricates a story about going to Tian Du to find a solution for the Great Desert Scroll and advises Ruo Wen against taking hasty military action.
Ruo Wen personally helps Ge Xin Wei put on her shoes, deliberately mentioning her clumsiness and reminding her to hurry back. When Huo Qing Yun returns after taking care of matters, he believes Na Zhan will eventually discover the truth, while Huang Bei Shuang thinks they should make progress first.
Elder Rong sends a message to Ruo Wen, hoping to meet with her in Tian Du. Concerned for Ge Xin Wei's safety, Ruo Wen rushes to Tian Du, not wanting to see Elder Rong at all. Elder Rong senses Ruo Wen's resentment; years ago, the Rong family was tasked with protecting the royal bloodline, and he hopes Ruo Wen can understand this and work with Huo Qing Yun to confront Na Zhan.
Huang Bei Shuang instructs Ge Xin Wei to check on San Jiang City but warns her not to involve anyone else. While in the desert, Ruo Wen encounters the Yun Pei army, kills one of them without hesitation, and then runs into Ge Xin Wei. Ge Xin Wei, not wanting Ruo Wen to get involved, falsely claims that Huang Bei Shuang is dead.
Noticing Ge Xin Wei's unusual tone, Ruo Wen learns that she plans to go to San Jiang City and quietly follows her. Na Zhan discovers that the Great Desert Scroll may be a trap and learns that Ruo Wen has been seen near Tian Du, prompting him to go there personally. Huo Qing Yun, noticing a significant change in Huang Bei Shuang's demeanor, becomes suspicious and does not allow her to get close, wondering if she is an imposter.
After being discovered, Ge Xin Wei reveals Huang Bei Shuang's original words. Huang Bei Shuang uses Ge Xin Wei's appearance to go to San Jiang City, and Huo Qing Yun quickly prepares his horse to pursue. Ruo Wen follows Ge Xin Wei to San Jiang City, where Ge Xin Wei assesses the geographical conditions and finds an entrance to the underground caves.
Ruo Wen is puzzled, thinking that Ge Xin Wei has become smarter after her trip to Tian Du. Meanwhile, Na Zhan learns that everyone is heading to San Jiang City and orders his soldiers to kill them on sight.
