Episode 11 recap: Quzong's Romantic Troubles

In Episode 11, Ashley communicates with Wangdui's wife and discovers that what truly matters to the locals isn’t wealth, but the presence of livestock. Having a herd of sheep or cattle is seen as true prosperity. Therefore, families with Gangba sheep don’t worry about selling them, as these rare sheep are considered treasures that they wouldn’t easily part with.

Due to this realization, Suo Lang feels the need to dig deeper for the real reasons behind the situation. He and Ashley disagree and decide to split up. Gongbu thinks both of them are being stubborn. Ashley goes on a lengthy search but still can’t find anyone willing to sell sheep. In contrast, Suo Lang buys a lot of beer, believing that it can help people open up and share their thoughts.

Suo Lang first approaches Wangdui, thinking that if he can get through to him, the others will follow. However, he finds that Wangdui has an impressive drinking capacity and his home is filled with empty bottles, which intimidates Suo Lang. Despite his fears, he drinks with Wangdui until he is completely intoxicated, needing Ashley and Gongbu to take him home.

Meanwhile, Xu Shaojie goes to find Yangjing, trying to persuade her to attend a training program, but she refuses, feeling hopeless about it. She prefers to maintain her current situation and find a part-time job. Before leaving, Xu gives 8,000 yuan to Qu Zong, asking her to secretly enroll Cuo Mu in an art class. When Yangjing later learns that the money came from Xu, she feels both shocked and touched.

On another front, Xu Shaojie learns from Qu Zong that Tu Deng plans to restage the Eight Great Tibetan Operas. He visits the Nanka Tibetan Opera troupe to ask Dajie about it. Dajie admits that the biggest problem is funding. Xu believes it’s a good initiative and mentions that the government has designated funds to support cultural heritage, offering to help secure financial assistance.

Za Xi urgently attends to a patient with a brain hemorrhage due to a car accident, catching Yin Wei's attention and changing his perception of Za Xi.

After the surgery, Yin Wei approaches the head of Za Xi's department, proposing that Za Xi take over the care of Patient No. 6. The director is curious about Yin Wei’s interest in Za Xi, to which Yin Wei responds that he wants to give Za Xi an opportunity.

Since Ge Sang won a bet, Nan Jia publicly apologizes to Ge Sang, and they become friends. The coach sees potential in Ge Sang, lamenting that he hasn’t joined the equestrian team. Jiumei also supports her sister’s dream of becoming a pilot, but they discover there are no opportunities locally.

Just when Jiumei thinks Ge Sang has been deceived, she spots a plane flying overhead, which excites Ge Sang. Previously, Pu Qiong rented out their courtyard for travel photography, but Xu Shaojie intervened just in time. Now, Pu Qiong is causing a scene in the community and won’t let go of Tu Deng. Upon hearing this, Xu rushes over, easily subduing Pu Qiong, and assures him that if he joins the training program, he will find work. If not, he can come to Xu for help.

Tu Deng begins to appreciate Xu Shaojie and takes him back to the Gaji courtyard. Xu seizes the opportunity to promise Tu Deng that he will only marry Qu Zong. However, Tu Deng doesn’t immediately accept this future son-in-law, explaining that Shandong is far from Lhasa, and wonders if Qu Zong will adjust to life there, particularly if she faces difficulties in her new family and can’t return home.

At that moment, Qu Zong rushes back to the Gaji courtyard and, relieved to find her father unharmed, feels a sense of relief. Aware of her father's financial struggles, she plans to transfer the Zhuoma Sweet Tea House, but Tu Deng strongly opposes this, believing it to be the last connection to his wife. Qu Zong feels upset by her father’s stance and suggests delaying their wedding by six months to a year, hoping to receive Tu Deng's blessing, to which Xu reluctantly agrees.
