Episode 13 recap: Solang Successfully Acquires All the Sheep
In Episode 13, despite Solang's attempt to gain everyone's trust by purchasing sheep outright, the villagers hesitate to make a decision. Some sheep traders angrily accuse Solang of breaking the rules. Observing Solang's disappointment, Ashley comforts him, saying that even if ten sheep aren't enough, they can seek help from Wangdu to fatten them up. She reassures him that even if they're initially deemed unqualified, they can still be improved.
Later, Solang and Ashley go to help Wangdu with his work and subtly express their desire to fatten the sheep. However, Wangdu believes that putting so much effort into just ten sheep isn't necessary. Ashley insists that even if it's just one sheep, it should meet quality standards. Solang echoes her sentiment, emphasizing the importance of promoting the Gangba sheep brand and conducting a quality, ethical business. He reassures Wangdu that this isn't a one-time deal; in the future, Wangdu can earn income not only from selling sheep but also from fattening them.
Feeling moved by Solang and Ashley's words, Wangdu reconsiders and discusses the costs of raising sheep with the traders, ultimately deciding not to sell the sheep to them, which leaves the traders baffled. A Wang, witnessing Solang's failed attempt to borrow money from friends, hands him his bank card and reveals that it contains 300,000 yuan, a sum he secured by mortgaging his truck to support Solang's venture.
When Solang sees the sheep traders with money in hand, he understands A Wang's intentions and sits alone on a hillside. At that moment, Wangdu approaches Solang, expressing that he has been observing Solang's efforts and recognizes his genuine desire to showcase the value of Gangba sheep. As the largest sheep farmer in the village, Wangdu knows that if he takes this step, others will follow.
Moved by Solang's sincerity, Wangdu decides to sell him the twenty sheep he initially planned to sell to the traders, requiring only a 20% deposit instead of full payment. Once he receives the rest of the payment through the Good Life Network, they can settle the deal. Subsequently, Solang, A Wang, and Ashley hurriedly help gather the sheep, creating a comical scene that leaves Wangdu both amused and exasperated.
Later, Wangdu gathers the villagers outside his home and calls Solang and the others. When Solang, A Wang, Ashley, and Gongbu arrive, they find that the villagers have brought together 200 Gangba sheep. Before leaving, Solang and Ashley build a mani stone pile on the hillside, where Ashley seizes the opportunity to express her admiration for Solang, noting his resilience in turning the impossible into possible.
Solang realizes that acquiring the sheep is just the first step, with many more challenges ahead. He promises Ashley that in three years, he can help her reach a higher position. As they part ways, Solang curiously asks Gongbu why he agreed to help after hearing Xu Shaojie sing. Gongbu reveals that it’s a secret from their time in the military. With slaughter, packaging, and transportation still unresolved, Solang feels mentally and physically drained and decides to return to Lhasa to discuss future plans.
Meanwhile, Peng Yang's parents have been at the hospital, bringing breakfast for Zaxi and trying to inquire about Peng Yang's condition. Uncertain how to respond, Zaxi, a mere intern, panics and runs off. This moment is observed by Yin Wei, who advises Zaxi that even if he declines the breakfast, he shouldn't flee. Communicating patient information to family members is part of a doctor's job, offering both comfort and reassurance.
Back at home, Solang asks about Qu Zong and Shaojie's situation, but Qu Zong seems intent on avoiding the topic. His discomfort becomes apparent when he sees Xu Shaojie arrive, prompting Solang to sense the tension between them. Meanwhile, Zaxi learns more about Peng Yang’s parents, discovering that his father is from Northeast China and has been working in Lhasa, while Peng Yang's mother brought him to visit and ended up in an accident.
Zaxi informs the family that Peng Yang's condition is improving and that he may wake up soon, bringing them to tears of joy, which tugs at Zaxi's heartstrings.
