Episode 4 recap: Ashley Meets Suo Lang for Collaboration

In Episode 4, after performing a dance, Qiao Yanru returns home to find that Pu Bu has prepared a delicious lamb stew, filling the air with a tempting aroma. Meanwhile, Suo Lang is determined to showcase the quality of his chili peppers and honey. To do this, he arranges for a meal to be prepared, mixes a drink of honey water, and pretends to be a delivery driver to bring the food to Ashley at her company. Upon seeing the note he left, Ashley realizes his intentions and heads downstairs to meet Suo Lang, who is waiting on the steps for news.

To test Suo Lang’s knowledge of his products, Ashley intentionally points out a black spot on the chili pepper. Fortunately, Suo Lang quickly explains that the spot is due to high anthocyanin content, which is rich in nutritional value. However, even with this explanation, Ashley remains unconvinced that Suo Lang’s products meet their selection standards, feeling that understanding alone isn't enough for her to trust him with the project.

As Ashley prepares to leave, Suo Lang seizes the opportunity to share the motivation behind his entrepreneurial journey in hopes of impressing her. Although Ashley agrees with Suo Lang's vision, she gently expresses the fact that his products do not meet the required standards, leading her to regretfully cancel any potential collaboration.

During a free clinic, Za Xi learns that Luo Bu's hometown is in the Nakchu grasslands. Luo Bu plans to open a mobile clinic in the pastoral area after retirement, following the herders and enjoying the beauty of nature. Ge Sang's fourth sister takes the initiative to bring Za Xi some potatoes, and then everyone heads back to Lhasa. On the journey, Za Xi overhears his colleagues discussing Yin Wei, describing him as an odd character who has worked tirelessly in the aid program for three years without ever visiting the Potala Palace.

While distributing potatoes to his colleagues, Za Xi spots Ge Sang waving goodbye from a hillside until their car disappears from view. Meanwhile, Xu Shaojie discovers that Zom is studying outside the store and hasn't yet enrolled in school. After talking to Yang Jing, he learns that her parents have not been in the community long enough to get her into the local primary school. Concerned about the children's education, Xu Shaojie offers to help them find a solution.

Back at home, Za Xi's free clinic visit brings joy to his father, who sees his eldest daughter making meat porridge and suggests inviting Suo Lang to join them for a meal. However, Tu Deng refuses, insisting he would rather throw the food away than give it to Suo Lang, saying it would be better to feed it to the dogs. Za Xi cleverly uses the excuse of feeding the dogs to sneak away some porridge, meat, potatoes, and chopsticks, with Tu Deng silently aware but not confronting her.

That night, Za Xi reaches out to Suo Lang to apologize, but Suo Lang is not upset at all. The two brothers sit outside, gazing at the starry sky when suddenly, Ashley adds Suo Lang as a friend and sends him two hundred yuan before blocking him on WeChat. The next morning, Ashley calls Suo Lang to meet at the Fat Potato shop, and he is thrilled, taking extra care to dress up.

Just then, Xu Shaojie enters and informs Yang Jing's family that her enrollment paperwork is complete, prompting gratitude from Yang Jing and even a slight shift in Tu Deng’s attitude toward him. Suo Lang arrives at the potato shop for his meeting, surprised to see Ashley in traditional Tibetan attire. He learns that she is actually of mixed Han and Tibetan heritage, with her real name being Da Zhen.

Despite Ashley repeatedly emphasizing that Suo Lang's products do not meet their requirements, she expresses her willingness to collaborate with him on the Gangba sheep project. She assures him that if he can accomplish this, there will be even larger orders in the future. Suo Lang gladly agrees. Meanwhile, Za Xi encounters Yin Wei at the hospital, who is bringing a critical patient to the operating room and immediately recognizes the patient’s acute suppurative cholangitis.

Due to an issue with the assistant not being able to pass the guidewire, Yin Wei thinks of asking Za Xi for help. Although Za Xi fails on his first two attempts due to nervousness, he successfully completes the task on his third try. Later, Ashley visits her parents, but she won't be able to stay for long. Qiao Yanru, who has been in Tibet since her youth, has built a family with Pu Bu and raised Ashley in a loving home, where she is greatly cherished by her parents.

As they talk, Ashley learns that Suo Lang has arrived at her doorstep, but it seems he is facing some trouble.
