Episode 5 recap: Suo Lang Accompanies Ashley to Find Sheep

In Episode 5, Suo Lang initially arranged for Ma Mu Ha to connect with suppliers of Gangba sheep through his family. However, Ma Mu Ha revealed that sourcing Gangba sheep is quite challenging and may not go as smoothly as expected. Suo Lang personally rode his electric scooter with Ashley, visiting various shops in search of the sheep, but with no success. One butcher suggested that mountain sheep could serve as a substitute for Gangba sheep, and while Suo Lang pretended to be interested and took a business card, he secretly blacklisted the shopkeeper.

Meanwhile, the head of the gastroenterology department, Yin Wei, became particularly interested in the talented Za Xi during a surgery and tried to persuade him to join his department. To everyone's surprise, Za Xi politely declined, leaving them puzzled. Tu Deng attended a performance by the Gongbu Danzeng Tibetan Opera troupe, but before he could go on stage, he showed signs of distress and eventually collapsed due to a heart attack after only a short while of performing.

Suo Lang had a sudden idea: to find Gangba sheep, they should focus on food. This led them to discover a restaurant that specializes in roasting Gangba sheep. Unfortunately, the owner informed Suo Lang and Ashley that the sheep are rare, and no one has been able to mass-produce them. He stated that at least 200 sheep would cost around 400,000 yuan.

Ashley felt that Suo Lang hadn’t conducted any market research and was fighting an unprepared battle, leading her to angrily suggest they cancel their collaboration. Upon returning to Gaji Courtyard, Suo Lang learned that his father had locked himself in a room and refused to speak. The next day, the three siblings were unable to find Tu Deng and accidentally learned of Gongbu Danzeng's passing.

Tu Deng never imagined that the death of an old rival would affect him so deeply. He reflected on the unpredictability of life and his fear of death, worried that he might not have enough time to prepare for everything. In the company of his siblings, Tu Deng mourned Gongbu Danzeng, shedding tears. He then called upon Dajie, believing that the Nanka Tibetan Opera troupe needed a new successor to lead them forward.

Za Xi listened from the window as his father spoke, contemplating the words of Sang Ge and feeling a desire to pursue his own path.

Meanwhile, Sang Ge missed Za Xi and left without telling anyone, heading to Lhasa to join his brother. Xu Shaojie was summoned by Director Tsering, who informed him that the community specialty shop had no space for its goods. Xu Shaojie wanted Suo Lang's items moved quickly to free up storage for them.

However, considering that Suo Lang’s peppers and honey weren't selling, Xu Shaojie paid a driver to delay the pickup for a couple of days. At that moment, Suo Lang was frantically contacting sellers to offload his products. Seeing Suo Lang's determination, Xu Shaojie felt hesitant to reveal the truth. He subtly suggested that Suo Lang find a suitable storage place, but Suo Lang didn’t catch his meaning. Consequently, Xu Shaojie decided to clear out the cluttered storage room at Gaji Courtyard himself, exhausting himself in the process, planning to explain everything to Suo Lang once it was done.

Qu Zong felt both sympathy and pride, bringing sweet tea to Xu Shaojie, who believed Suo Lang's entrepreneurial efforts deserved support and encouragement. Xu Shaojie thought it was crucial to guide Suo Lang, both as community support for young entrepreneurs and personally, given that Suo Lang was his brother-in-law, which made Qu Zong feel delighted.

Suo Lang introduced his new client, Mr. Liu, to his peppers and honey, assuring him of low prices and high quality. Just as he finished speaking, the warehouse suddenly lost power, and Mr. Liu immediately sensed Suo Lang's urgency to sell, negotiating the price down from 50,000 yuan to 30,000 yuan. Meanwhile, Ashley received a call from her friend Pingcuo, who was curious about why she had left the big city of Shanghai to return to Lhasa. Ashley provided a brief explanation.

After hanging up, Ashley asked her assistant if Suo Lang had been in touch recently, and upon hearing that he hadn’t, she couldn’t hide her disappointment.
