Episode 1 recap: Reunion of Lu Xing Yan and Shen Xing Ruo
In the first episode, back in 2018, Shen Xing Ruo achieved great success by winning the championship on the popular show "Race Against Time" aired by Star City TV. Shen Xing Ruo and Lu Xing Yan arrived late due to traffic but made it just before the ceremony ended. As the groomsman and bridesmaid, they were responsible for collecting the rings. However, a mishap occurred when a video mistakenly played the footage of Lu Xing Yan proposing to Shen Xing Ruo years ago.
In the video, Shen Xing Ruo cheerfully accepted, and Lu Xing Yan jokingly mentioned needing to return nine yuan, claiming it was the government's processing fee. Shen Xing Ruo corrected him, explaining that the civil affairs bureau no longer charged fees, but the taxi fare from the venue to the bureau was indeed nine yuan. Relieved, Lu Xing Yan realized his biggest fear was being rejected.
Seizing the moment, he placed the ring back on Shen Xing Ruo's finger and pulled her into a tight embrace, eliciting enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience.
The mystery of why they broke up remains unsolved, leaving many curious. The divorce ceremony also featured a special segment—a pillow fight—allowing everyone to release pent-up emotions.
