Episode 10 recap: The Rift Between the Jiang and Cheng Families Deepens
In Episode 10, Cheng Feng gives Man Yue a yacht sales contract from Jiang Ji Jun, revealing that Jiang Ji Jun holds the yacht through an offshore company registered in the Cayman Islands called He Wan Company. A Hong Kong accounting firm named An Shen has been closely working with He Wan Company, leading Zhu Bai Zhong and Man Yue to suspect that the firm's head is Jiang Ji Jun's money laundering accomplice.
As Man Yue digs deeper, she discovers that An Shen has a subsidiary called Xiong Hui Transportation, which is completely unrelated to accounting. To her surprise, the head of this subsidiary is Tang Zi Chao. Zhu Bai Zhong notes that Tang is often berated by Jiang Ji Jun at work, and he never expected Tang to be managing this company for him.
Dai Kang reports on the project's status to Jiang Ji Jun, mentioning that the First Steel Company failed to deliver materials on time. Jiang Ji Jun brushes it off, thinking Dong Bo is just on vacation. Tang Zi Chao hands over a USB drive containing the company’s financial records to Jiang Ji Jun, who doesn’t even glance at this month’s financial report.
Zhuo Hui Yun visits the doctor and learns that her pregnancy has successfully taken hold. Back at the Jiang residence, she hears her master telling Jiang Zhe Xian that they should celebrate to bring good luck. Zhuo Hui Yun seizes the opportunity to announce her pregnancy. Jiang Zhe Xian is overjoyed and invites Zhuo Hao Tian over to share the news.
Jiang Zhe Xian expresses that if they have a grandson, he plans to establish a new family trust, converting the subsidiary into a trust for Hui Yun. Meanwhile, Jiang Ji Jun tries to enjoy some tea, but Mrs. Jiang accidentally spills it, making him realize something is wrong. He begins to suspect that his mother has been poisoning his father in order to force Jiang Zhe Xian to step down and hand the company over to him.
During this time, the market is not doing well, and the Shun En Fund is inexplicably selling off large amounts of stock, raising Cheng Feng's suspicions. Zhu Bai Zhong disguises himself as a delivery driver to investigate Tang Zi Chao’s home but is stopped by Tang’s lawyer, leading to a scene at the police station. At the same time, Mo Jia Lang is tasked with escorting Yu Xi Chen home and coincidentally runs into Zhu Bai Zhong at the police station, recalling having seen him with his father before.
Mo Jia Lang continues his investigation and unexpectedly discovers that Zhu Bai Zhong is working as a driver for the Jiang family, which makes it likely that he knows Man Yue and is assisting her.
Zhu Bai Zhong quickly informs Man Yue about the situation, but she isn’t worried that Mo Jia Lang will investigate her. In fact, she hopes he uncovers the heinous deeds Jiang Ji Jun committed years ago.
Zhuo Hui Yun attends a charity art exhibition, and Man Yue notices she has switched to shorter heels, suspecting she might be pregnant. Suddenly, Zhuo Hui Yun experiences stomach pain, prompting Man Yue and Mrs. Jiang to take her to the hospital for an examination. The doctor finds no major issues and confirms a strong heartbeat for the fetus, revealing it's a boy. Both Zhuo Hui Yun and Mrs. Jiang are overjoyed.
Previously, Man Yue uncovered that Dong Bo's real name is Johnny, who was wanted for fraud in Malaysia before fleeing to Hong Kong. Man Yue uses this information to manipulate Dong Bo into deceiving Jiang Ji Jun. Now that Dong Bo is missing, Jiang Ji Jun will soon realize he has been duped and is likely to destroy all evidence of his crimes.
Man Yue gathers Zhu Bai Zhong and Le Yao, determined to find evidence of wrongdoing quickly. News about workers demanding unpaid wages suddenly surfaces, and with Baole shares continuously declining, Cheng Feng suspects that someone is deliberately targeting Baole. Jiang Zhe Xian is deeply disappointed in Jiang Ji Jun and turns to Zhuo Hao Tian for assistance.
Through Cheng Feng, Man Yue learns that the manager of the Shun En Fund, Zhang Wei Xiong, is affiliated with Huo Jian Kun, who is connected to Zhuo Hao Tian. This means that Zhuo Hao Tian is actually behind the attacks on Baole. Meanwhile, Zhuo Hao Tian agrees to purchase 400 million in convertible bonds from Baole, allowing Jiang Zhe Xian to use 5% of Wang Zhuo’s shares as collateral.
Zhuo Hao Tian believes he is guaranteed success, but he is caught off guard when Zhuo Shi Qi reveals the truth to Jiang Zhe Xian. Furious, Jiang Zhe Xian confronts Zhuo Hao Tian, leading to a heated fallout between them.
