Episode 6 recap: Luo Yi Ning Witnesses Luo Shen Yuan Saving Li Ying Long
In Episode 6, Lin Mao is temporarily staying at his older sister's house and finds life at the Luo residence quite dull. Noticing this, Luo Yi Ning comes up with a plan and praises Luo Shen Yuan to Lin Mao, claiming he is a fun-loving young master, and that it would be great to hang out with him. Lin Mao, being naive, believes her and promises not to reveal that it was Luo Yi Ning's suggestion. He then starts spending more time with Luo Shen Yuan.
One day, Lin Mao unexpectedly finds Luo Shen Yuan enjoying himself at the Liuhe Tavern. Emboldened, he decides to join him for food and drinks. Since Lin Mao is the brother of Lin Hai Ru, Luo Shen Yuan treats him generously, providing fine food and drink, and even invites a couple of beautiful women to keep him company. With the wine and lovely company, Lin Mao soon gets drunk and loses consciousness.
Meanwhile, Luo Shen Yuan takes the opportunity to discreetly inquire about the latest movements of Li Ying Long. He learns that Li Ying Long is searching for "Long Yan Xiang" to prepare medicine for the Empress Dowager, which raises suspicions about his activities.
When Lin Mao wakes up, he can't escape a scolding from Lin Hai Ru, and he momentarily suppresses his desire to leave. The next day, Luo Yi Ning curiously asks Lin Mao about his whereabouts the previous day. Upon hearing that he was with Luo Shen Yuan at the Liuhe Tavern, she is surprised, as Luo Shen Yuan typically keeps a low profile and wouldn't usually visit such places. Shortly after, she learns that Luo Shen Yuan has appeared at the Yuanjing Pavilion, where the Shen family is hosting a grand banquet attended by prominent guests.
As Luo Yi Ning ponders this, her sixth sister invites her to join the festivities at Yuanjing Pavilion. Once there, Luo Yi Ning searches for Luo Shen Yuan, while her sister excitedly mentions another prominent guest, Cheng Lang, whose beauty has captivated many women.
Luo Yi Ning is shocked to discover that Cheng Lang's uncle is Lu Jia Xue, the very enemy who once put her life in danger. Trying to remain calm, she finds an excuse to avoid the crowd, but accidentally wanders deep into the maze-like Yuanjing Pavilion. At that moment, assassins arranged by Lin Yue Niang stealthily approach.
In a moment of crisis, Luo Yi Ning remembers she has some knockout powder on her. She quickly scatters it and seizes the chance to escape. Meanwhile, Li Ying Long is begging for mercy from Lu Jia Xue, revealing that evidence against Sun Cheng Wu is hidden in the Luo residence. Lu Jia Xue, cold and ruthless, orders his execution. Unbeknownst to them, Luo Shen Yuan overhears everything and immediately organizes a rescue.
A fierce battle ensues, with both sides evenly matched. In the end, Li Ying Long manages to escape, while Luo Shen Yuan retreats with his men. During the retreat, Luo Shen Yuan spots Luo Yi Ning hiding in the shadows. Despite his injuries, he insists on taking her with him. However, realizing his condition is dire and that pursuers are close behind, he urges Luo Yi Ning to flee on her own to avoid putting her family in danger.
Though Luo Yi Ning has managed to escape a good distance, her concern for Luo Shen Yuan's safety drives her to return when she sees him bleeding profusely.
As night falls, the elderly Lady Luo anxiously waits for Luo Yi Ning's return, growing increasingly worried. Lin Hai Ru wants to send people to search Yuanjing Pavilion, but Qiao Xiao Niang stops him, citing safety concerns.
Doubting her intentions, Lin Hai Ru discreetly inquires with Luo Yi Xiu and becomes more convinced that Qiao Xiao Niang is involved in the matter. After everyone disperses, Lin Hai Ru secretly leads a maid into Qiao Xiao Niang's quarters to demand answers about Luo Yi Ning's whereabouts.
