Episode 8 of 'I May Love You': Tang Xin's Worries for the Future and Tang Yu's Surprising Investment
In the eighth episode of the drama series "I May Love You," Tang Yu relentlessly pursues a collaboration with Tang Xin. Meanwhile, Tang Xin is concerned about the future of the song "Dreaming for You" due to Old Wan's illness. Her best friend and Tang Ding Ding try to comfort her, but You Huan notices Tang Ding Ding's low spirits and suspects it's because of the rumored relationship between Huo Chen Dong and a model. Coincidentally, Huo Chen Dong arrives with his new girlfriend to buy clothes, and Tang Ding Ding takes the initiative to assist them. The clothes recommended by You Huan are of high quality and style, and Huo Chen Dong's girlfriend loves them. However, she finds the prices a bit high during checkout. Despite the pressure from Tang Ding Ding and Tang Xin, Huo Chen Dong can't afford to lose face and reluctantly makes the purchase.
After leaving the store, Huo Chen Dong's girlfriend senses Tang Ding Ding's unusual behavior and suspects that her relationship with Huo Chen Dong is more than just friends. Huo Chen Dong explains that Tang Ding Ding is his good friend's younger sister, and they have been close since childhood. However, his girlfriend believes that Tang Ding Ding may not see him as a brother.
Tang Ding Ding takes advantage of the situation and overcharges Huo Chen Dong, feeling a sense of satisfaction. She persuades Tang Xin to return to Time Film and Television Company, but Tang Xin insists on handing the work over to someone competent, with Lu Zhi Xing being the best choice. Tang Ding Ding reveals her plan to buy a house near Lu Zhi Xing's studio, and Tang Xin takes note of it, promising to help her find available properties.
Tang Yu deliberately calls Tang Xin and reveals that he already knows about Wan Li's illness. He advises Tang Xin to bring "Dreaming for You" back, as it would at least secure the investment. Faced with this unexpected change in Tang Yu's attitude, Tang Xin is momentarily stunned and wonders if he is being genuine or not. Tang Yu expresses his genuine interest in the novel, being the first one he has read from start to finish. Just as they are about to discuss specific chapters, Gao Heng interrupts them at an inopportune time. Sensing the timing is right, Tang Xin politely excuses herself, mentioning that she will invite her colleagues from Time Film and Television Company to watch the movie after its completion. Tang Yu can only watch as she leaves.
Later, Lu Zhi Xing calls Tang Xin and appoints her as the lead screenwriter for the project, alongside Feng Cheng. Tang Xin becomes excited and promises to do her best since it is her first film and television work. Lu Zhi Xing mentions Time Film and Television Company's interest in investing, and although Tang Xin is slightly confused, she can separate her personal feelings from the company's interests. She tells Lu Zhi Xing not to consider her feelings and to proceed with negotiations if the terms are suitable.
Tang Xin leaves Time Film and Television Company, while Tang Yu becomes restless and ultimately decides to invest in Lu Zhi Xing's studio. Tang Xin is puzzled by his behavior and accuses him of signing a four-year contract without filming anything, but now he is trying to entangle himself with her. Tang Yu offers generous conditions to Lu Zhi Xing, but he is still hesitant. Feng Cheng notices his feelings and believes that Tang Yu has developed feelings for Tang Xin. Lu Zhi Xing denies it, claiming that he noticed Tang Xin's reluctance and doesn't want to trouble her as the movie doesn't lack funding.
Back at home, Tang Yu reflects on Tang Xin's coldness towards him and Lu Zhi Xing's concern for her. He starts to feel restless and wonders if he is jealous. Suddenly, Tang Ding Ding appears before him and asks whom he's jealous of.
Tang Ding Ding, who has been drinking, becomes the target of Tang Yu's frustration, as he urges her to stop having unrealistic thoughts and demands that she report to Time Film and Television Company the next day. Tang Ding Ding agrees, and she tells Tang Yu about Tang Xin's plan to buy a house. Tang Yu starts to scheme.
The next day, Tang Xin finds a house that satisfies her greatly. She expected the price to be acceptable, but the real estate agent informs her that it's within her budget. Without much thought, Tang Xin agrees and quickly completes the purchase procedures.
As the house was ready to move in, Tang Xin quickly completed her relocation. Tang Yu took the initiative to visit and help with the arrangement, but Tang Xin didn't give him a warm reception. She didn't even offer him a drink of water. When Tang Yu asked for water, he picked up the glass that Tang Xin had drunk from and drank from it. Tang Xin noticed and rushed over to stop him, accidentally pushing Tang Yu onto the sofa. Their positions were somewhat ambiguous, causing Tang Xin to feel a bit dazed.
Faced with Tang Xin's shyness, Tang Yu brought up the time when Tang Xin forcefully kissed him for at least three minutes. He pointed out that she was still holding a grudge even after taking a sip of water. During the process of moving things, Tang Xin twisted her wrist, and Tang Yu attentively brought an ice pack to help her cool it down. Tang Xin's mind started to become chaotic again, and she began discussing whether or not the forceful kiss lasted for three minutes, neglecting the significance of the discussion itself.
Tang Ding Ding took on miscellaneous tasks at Time Film and Television Company and was swamped with everyone's demands. After work, she noticed her brother's car parked there and approached Tang Xin for an explanation, only to unexpectedly discover that Tang Yu had bought a house next to Tang Xin's.
