As Long As We Are Together: A Modern Urban Family Drama Sparking Controversy with Unexpected Intrigue

The modern urban family drama "As Long As We Are Together," starring Qin Hao, Jiang Xin, Ren Zhong, Wang Ou, and others, is currently airing on CCTV-8. The success of this drama is evident, although it may not be as prominent in the trending searches. In terms of viewership, it has indeed dominated the scene.

The script is decent, and as a slice-of-life family drama, it manages to capture the essence of everyday life. The actors have put in great efforts to portray characters that resonate with the scriptwriters and directors. However, to be honest, the presence of the supporting character Song Xiao, played by Tan Kai, has become the biggest flaw of the entire drama!

In Pingcheng, there are not only hotels but also large shopping malls. Tian Tian sees a pair of shoes priced at nearly 30,000 yuan in the mall and asks Song Xiao to have them wrapped up. Although Tian Tian ultimately leaves the shoes on a chair without taking them, Song Xiao genuinely intended to buy them for her at that time.

The female lead, He Jia Ru, goes to the prestigious Luo Jia Business School for further studies, where Song Xiao also happens to be studying. He falls for He Jia Ru at first sight and even secretly takes photos of her while she is speaking on stage, saving them on his phone. At the evening banquet, Song Xiao deliberately approaches He Jia Ru, and the two of them engage in numerous conversations.

He Jia Ru mentions her son, Yue Le, to him. Song Xiao knows that when a woman mentions having a child upon their first meeting, it is a clear rejection. Most viewers would assume that after He Jia Ru talks about her loving and harmonious family, Song Xiao would exercise some restraint.

But unexpectedly, he not only lacks restraint but sometimes even crosses the line! In the end, when He Jia Ru couldn't hold back anymore, she directly asks him if wealthy people like him are fond of pursuing married individuals. Song Xiao immediately rejects the notion and uses the excuse of He Jia Ru wanting to introduce her best friend to him, putting her worries to rest.

However, surprisingly, Song Xiao's actions clearly contradict his words. He still secretly takes photos of He Jia Ru in class and even considers going on a date with her. Initially, most viewers thought that it would be a simple lunch, just as He Jia Ru had in mind. But the words that came out of Song Xiao's mouth were completely unexpected: "Let's skip class and go on a date!"

She said that Mr. Song seems to be a capable and charismatic person who can conquer the world. Song Xiao seizes upon this statement and, when Tian Tian goes to the restroom, he says to He Jia Ru, "Since you said I can conquer the world, can I conquer you too? Hahaha! Help me, I'm really shameless. I wonder how Mr. Tan portrayed this scene."

Of course, beyond the laughter and his sleazy behavior, it is necessary to address the fact that as a successful man, he lacks a sense of boundaries and is set on interfering in someone else's happy family as a third party.
