As Long As We Are Together: A Drama Filled with Family Dynamics and Unfulfilled Justice

The drama "As Long As We Are Together" revolves around four families. Although it seems to have a happy ending for everyone, there are several instances of regret. Ye Yi Fan (played by Qin Hao) and He Jia Ru (played by Jiang Xin) are portrayed as the exemplary couple throughout the series. From the eldest to the youngest in the family, every relationship is harmonious, and there are no typical family problems.

However, when Ye Yi Fan learns about his illness and encounters some financial troubles at work, he worries that he won't be able to take care of his family and ensure their safety. This leads him to want them to experience life and understand the value of money. Eventually, Tian Dong discovers a special medication and agrees to give He Jia Ru a chance to make amends by helping her find a lawyer.

After resolving the issues, with the support of He Jia Ru and Ye Yi Fan, the couple reconciles. Chen Li (played by Ren Zhong) and Hou Yuan Yuan (played by Zhang Ling Xin), on the surface, appear to have a perfect marriage, but there's always a lingering unease. Despite Chen Li's good character, he fails to provide much emotional support. Feng Dan (played by Shi Shi) and Han Jin Jin (played by Wang Li Xin) faced domestic violence. Although Feng Dan successfully divorced, the abuser Han Jin Jin avoids any punishment.

He doesn't have to return the embezzled money or face investigation; he simply gets away with it. This lack of consequence for someone who clearly made a mistake raises concerns about whether he will become even worse in the future. This plot development is indeed regrettable. Assistant Song Xiao, who has always actively helped plan and even used He Jia Ru behind the scenes to spread malicious rumors about her, suddenly shifts all the blame onto Song Xiao when summoned, claiming to have only done as instructed and not participated in the scheming. Song Xiao gets arrested, but Assistant Song Xiao should also face severe punishment.

"As Long As We Are Together" portrays its characters in an overly positive light, especially with He Jia Ru, who is completely genuine and relies on her abilities to excel in her career. She even chooses to show understanding towards those who have hurt her. The good people find fulfillment, while the bad ones don't receive the justice they deserve, which is indeed a source of regret.
