Top 5 Trending Web Series and Reviews from "Maoyan Pro" Real-Time Data

As of the time of writing, according to real-time data from "Maoyan Pro," the top five web series with the highest online popularity are as follows:

1. "Hidden God" Starring: Zhao Lusi / Wang Anyu / Ying Er

3. "Dreams of Ning'an" Starring: Bailu / Zhang Linghe / Wang Xingyue

Review of "Dreams of Ning'an": The first few episodes were hard to watch. I couldn't see how beautiful the female lead was, and the character settings for both the male and female leads were strange. The acting was just average. Fortunately, I persevered, and it became much better around the tenth episode. The story background was better explained, and it became more immersive. I hope the quality will be maintained in the future. Overall, it was decent. The ending felt rushed. Did they really have to kill off You Fangyin? The character development (for the female lead, Zhou Yinzhi, Zhang Zhe, and General Yan) was well done, but the male lead's eccentric character setting was a bit exaggerated. The plot had several intriguing romantic and political storylines, presented with the right balance of detail and brevity. It's the type of series that gets better the more you watch. I would rate it 8 out of 10.

5. "Return to the South Sea" Starring: Pan Yueming / Zhang Yuqi / Jiang Chao

Review of "Return to the South Sea": I enjoyed watching it. The actors' performances were excellent. This series had the potential to be even better, but the storyline was often fragmented and disjointed. The portrayal of the romantic relationships was frustrating, especially the scenes between Hu Bayi and the female lead. They were not only lacking sweetness but also boring. It would have been better to focus on the main storyline. And the final ending, what was that? It was obvious from the beginning that the protagonist wanted to get rich, but in the end, everything was handed over to the country. It was disappointing, and the character development felt out of character. Ruandada's death was senseless and meaningless, all because of an argument with a fat guy that resulted in the mermaid falling into the water. It's truly frustrating. Longling Miku was the peak of the series. Overall, I can only say it was average.
