Thank you for your support. ♥ Ye Yi Fan and He Jia Ru have finally welcomed their second child, bought a new house, and even managed to bring their grandparents together. It's a perfect ending that audiences have never seen before!
However, this grand conclusion has left the audience feeling perplexed. The forced redemption of Chen Li, undoubtedly the biggest scoundrel in "As Long As We Are Together," has left viewers puzzled. As a husband, he did not treat his wife with enough care, but he displayed his utmost kindness towards female clients and neighbors.
The manipulative control of appearances distorted their marital relationship. Although Chen Li did not cheat in the drama, he did hesitate when faced with a confession from a female client and considered divorcing his wife. Their daughter was falsely accused of plagiarism at school, and the teacher immediately condemned her without any inquiry.
When Hou Yuan Yuan firmly believed in her daughter's innocence, the teacher even pushed her to the ground. This outrageous plot has infuriated the viewers! The victim was forced to apologize to the perpetrator, which defied all sense of justice. Chen Li stayed by Hou Yuan Yuan's side after she was falsely accused, even though he did nothing significant, but it was deemed "admirable."
As a result, Hou Yuan Yuan and her daughter accepted Chen Li, and they all lived happily together. Even if a scoundrel like Chen Li had an emotional affair, the punishment seems too lenient. The forced redemption of Chen Li was already hard for the audience to accept, but it turns out he wasn't the only one being redeemed by the scriptwriter.
In the final climax, the audience learned that he had a terminal illness and wanted to teach his wife and son the ability to live independently by going bankrupt. Some people think Tian Dong had good intentions in helping his wife and son become self-reliant. After all, it's better to teach someone how to fish than to give them fish; one's ability to earn money is more important.
However, Tian Tian experienced real fear, anxiety, and helplessness throughout this process. The pain cannot be easily erased, and the emotions still linger. The biggest antagonist in "As Long As We Are Together" is undoubtedly Song Xiao.
Through his investigation, it was revealed that Fang Mi had a crush on He Jia Ru since their university days, but they never got together. In order to fulfill his own plans, Song Xiao seduced He Jia Ru and later framed her, intending to use it as leverage against Fang Mi. Song Xiao, being experienced in the business world, why did he go to such lengths and commit so many illegal acts for a school district house? And why did he leave so much evidence for others to find?
Moreover, he couldn't be certain how much Fang Mi would be coerced into accepting He Jia Ru. And Song Xiao wasn't the only one whose intelligence was compromised; He Jia Ru's assistant, Jiang Xiao Shan, also made irrational decisions in the plot.
In the earlier stages, she portrayed herself as a very rational character. When He Jia Ru and her career were threatened, Jiang Xiao Shan demonstrated her wit. However, in the end, she betrayed He Jia Ru!
The lure of money may be one aspect, but the most illogical aspect of Jiang Xiao Shan's betrayal is that framing He Jia Ru is illegal. Did Jiang Xiao Shan, such a rational girl, not consider the consequences if the truth were exposed?
The clichéd ending. As soon as the final climax of "As Long As We Are Together" was unveiled, the audience sighed, "It's truly a happy ending, let's make dumplings together!" This indicates the audience's helplessness towards the forced and predictable conclusion. Behind this unoriginal plot lies the embedded Chinese values of reunion and fulfillment.
Therefore, the audience's acceptance of such an ending is high. It is evident that the market for family dramas remains vast.
Even though the plot was disappointing, there were still viewers who paid for it.
Among them, the actors' performances played a significant role, and many viewers said, "If it weren't for watching Qin Hao, I would have dropped this lousy plot long ago."
This also serves as a warning for future film and television productions: if they can't achieve a balance between the plot and acting, at least one aspect should excel.
