Battle Through the Heaven: A Chinese Anime Adaptation Fails to Impress Viewers

With the thriving development of the anime industry, many classic domestic anime IPs have begun to be adapted into live-action dramas. For example, earlier this year, "Under the Power" was adapted from the popular Chinese anime "The Outcast," and the final result was quite impressive. Recently, another live-action drama based on a popular Chinese anime adaptation, "Battle Through the Heaven," has officially premiered. However, the show received a lot of criticism right after its debut.

Unfortunately, the most regrettable aspect is that this production faced a lot of backlash from viewers right from the start, resulting in a poor reputation. The most common complaint among netizens is the casting, especially the portrayal of the main character, Xiao Yan, in "Battle Through the Heaven." Xiao Yan is played by young actor He Luo Luo, who rose to fame through a talent show. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of his acting skills.

Apart from the casting issues, "Battle Through the Heaven" also has several flaws in its storyline. For example, Xiao Yan immediately enters the Jialan Academy and directly challenges the powerful ranking list and encounters Hu Jia, the infatuated leader of the Black Vengeance Army. Comparatively, the previous adaptation of "Doupo Cangqiong" featuring Wu Lei appears much more visually appealing, and at least Wu Lei's acting skills and looks were commendable.
