The Last Immortal: Ten Powerful Characters in the TV Drama Unveiled

The latest plot developments in the TV drama "The Last Immortal," starring Zhao Lu Si, have become increasingly exciting. Especially noteworthy is Ah Yin's sacrifice of half of her inner elixir spiritual power to obtain two portions of Phoenix Hidden Immortal Essence, which leads to the formation of a friendship between Xiu Yan and Ao Ge. As the backstories of Xiu Yan and Ao Ge are revealed, the true extent of their powers is finally unveiled, culminating in the introduction of the formidable Ming Qi, a demonic deity.

As an Xianxia drama, "The Last Immortal" delves into the realms of the Netherworld, the Demon World, the Heavenly Realm, and the Divine Realm, showcasing a multitude of powerful beings. In this article, we will discuss the ten most formidable characters that appear in the series. Please note that only characters with appearances will be considered, so individuals like Zhi Yang and Tian Qi, who haven't made an appearance yet, are not included. Corrections or additions are welcome.

1. Ming Qi: Ming Qi, the Demon God, is the oldest and original Chaos Supreme God in the Divine Realm. However, upon discovering the secret of the Chaos Tribulation and the responsibilities of the Chaos Supreme God, he fled the Divine Realm and became a Demon God. Seven thousand years ago, he launched an attack on the Divine Realm but unfortunately failed. After being resurrected by the Ancestral God, Ming Qi observed the world with indifference, tacitly and even covertly assisting the Demon Lord Qing Lin in causing chaos in the Three Realms. Eventually, he will lend a hand to help Gu Jin, or rather, Yuan Qi, achieve resurrection and fulfill their destiny with Feng Yin.

2. Di Juan: Di Juan, also known as Bai Jue, is closely associated with Tian Qi in the series. As the artifact of Di Juan, the Purple Moon of the Demon Clan, merged with Tian Qi, the two characters are considered as one entity. Di Juan, who succumbed to the Chaos Tribulation, will eventually be resurrected. He is aware of all that Gu Jin has experienced but, like Ming Qi, chooses to observe events from a distance. Di Juan possesses the power of chaos and is even stronger than Yi He.

3. Yi He: Yi He is Gu Jin's mother and the current Chaos Supreme God in the Divine Realm. She remains a formidable force with terrifying power. As the Chaos Supreme God, she could have resurrected Xiu Yan but intentionally allowed Ao Ge to replace him, thus securing the Heavenly Realm under her control. However, she is left helpless and unable to prevent Gu Jin's tragic death. This goes to show that even as a Supreme God, there are circumstances beyond her control.

4, 5. Ao Ge and Xiu Yan: Despite currently being the rulers of the Netherworld and serving as guides along the Yellow Springs Road, both Ao Ge and Xiu Yan were once Supreme Gods in the Divine Realm. In terms of power and status, one governed life while the other governed death. Ao Ge was the Lord of the Heavenly Realm, while Xiu Yan was the Lord of the Netherworld. Their powers are relatively equal. However, Xiu Yan died in battle seven thousand years ago, sacrificing himself to stop Ming Qi, while Ao Ge, in order to save his younger brother, relinquished his position as the Lord of the Heavenly Realm and became the Lord of the Netherworld in Xiu Yan's stead. The fact that these two were able to seal Ming Qi demonstrates their formidable strength, making them prominent figures among the Supreme Gods.

7. Hua Shu: Hua Shu is the princess of the Peacock Clan. In terms of personal power, she is not particularly remarkable. However, by refining the Heaven Veiling Umbrella, she became an Upper Deity. Furthermore, by succumbing to demonic influence and absorbing the cultivation of others, she became an Upper God. Hua Shu ranks seventh primarily because she wields the Demon Gathering Banner. Even the Upper God Hua Mo, her elder brother, can be killed by a single strike from her, showcasing her comprehensive strength.

8. Hua Mo: Hua Mo, also known as the Peacock King, possesses tremendous power. However, he has remained hidden for many years. After practicing demonic techniques, his power has grown by leaps and bounds. He has become an Upper God and even absorbed one-third of the Demon Lord's power. The demonic-infused Hua Mo possesses terrifying strength, as evidenced by his audacious ambition to annihilate the entire Immortal Clan. Unfortunately, he was stopped by the Heaven Veiling Umbrella and ultimately killed by Hua Shu's Demon Gathering Banner.

Gu Jin, or Yuan Qi, possesses the power of Chaos, but it was sealed. However, after the destruction of the Da Ze Mountain, he broke the seal and became an Upper God. With the addition of the Yuan Shen Sword, Gu Jin's strength is formidable. However, in terms of mastery of spells and combat skills, he cannot be compared to others.

If it weren't for the fortuitous circumstances surrounding Gu Jin's birth, his strength alone would probably not even be comparable to Qing Yi, let alone becoming an Upper God.

As for the Demon Lord Qing Lin, she was effectively restrained by Gu Jin's Yuan Shen Sword and her performance was not outstanding enough to make the list. Besides these characters, who do you think should be included? Corrections and additions are welcome. See you in the next issue!
