The Truth Season 2: A Thought-Provoking Low-Budget Web Series
"The Truth Season 2" is a low-budget web series featuring relatively unknown actors, yet its storyline leaves a deep impression. When a fourteen-year-old daughter is violated by a classmate, she returns home in tears. However, her father, afraid to confront the perpetrator, resorts to slapping himself. Enraged, the daughter berates her father as a coward. Days pass, and Luo Yutong, the father, stops attending school while holding the child at the doorstep, continuing to sell steamed buns.
Until one day, they encounter the scoundrel again! Luo Yutong's emotions erupt, and she tries to intervene, but her father stops her. He decides to move to Xia City with Luo Yutong and Luo Xiaoman, hoping for a fresh start. Once again, Luo Yutong is disappointed as her father's weak and ineffectual behavior hurts her. In Xia City, the father continues to sell steamed buns while Luo Yutong works in a factory. Her happiest moments involve picking up her child from kindergarten every day.
However, another unforeseen incident occurs. Luo Xiaoman is pushed down a slide at school by a short-tempered boy. Standing beside the boy is his mute grandmother, communicating through gestures. The kindergarten teacher defends the boy, stating that children's rough play is normal but hopes it won't happen again.
Later, Luo Yutong leaves with her children. Back home, while applying ointment to her daughter, Luo Yutong weeps with aching heart. Her obedient daughter sits by the bed, enduring the pain and comforting Luo Yutong. This reminds Luo Yutong of her own past, and she doesn't want her daughter to be bullied anymore. She refuses to be weak and submissive like her father and decides to seek revenge for her daughter.
Similar to before, the father secretly deals with the crime scene. The police initially suspected a male perpetrator until they apprehended the father, uncovering hidden truths. It is only during the interrogation that Luo Yutong learns about all the things her father, whom she considered worthless, had done for her. It turns out that her father had visited the scoundrel's house with a kitchen knife but left upon seeing the paralytic condition of the scoundrel's mother.
The reason for not reporting the incident was to protect her daughter's reputation. Her father didn't want her to face criticism.
Like before, he witnesses his daughter's hatred, but he is powerless and can only express his love in his own way. Now, everything is beyond repair. Out of kindness, the father forgave the person who violated his daughter, forgave the mute woman, and didn't hold the teacher accountable. However, these actions have twisted his daughter's psyche, leading her to handle things in an extreme manner. So, who is truly at fault?
The determination of right and wrong should be left to the law. Don't easily forgive those who harm you just because of kindness.
