Unshakable Faith: The Mysterious Identities of Snow Wolf and Bai Ming Han
"In the novel 'Unshakable Faith,' two characters hold the utmost mystery. One is Snow Wolf, who, despite making an appearance and meeting Bai Ming Han, remains unseen and of uncertain gender. Even if a woman appears, it may not necessarily be Snow Wolf herself.
The other enigmatic character is Bai Ming Han. From the beginning, Bai Ming Han raises many suspicions. Pang Hong Mei, in particular, doubts him. While his identity as a renowned local traditional Chinese medicine practitioner from Lumen is evident, Bai Ming Han also served as a subordinate of the former military intelligence agent, Snow Leopard, with the code name 'Ghost Owl.' However, further details suggest that Bai Ming Han undoubtedly possesses additional identities. Speculations surround his involvement with the underground organization known as Unshakable Faith before the liberation or his connection to Pang Hong Mei's father, Pang Shi Zhao, who may have shown him kindness. His presence in Lumen is driven by the pursuit of vengeance against Snow Wolf, the perpetrator responsible for Pang Shi Zhao's murder.
There is an overlooked detail that reveals Bai Ming Han's careful intentions. Zhang A Shui infiltrated the instrument factory with the help of Li Guang Ming, but the special task force detected and foiled Zhang A Shui's plot in time. After being shot, Zhang A Shui found Bai Ming Han and threatened him to provide medical treatment. Bai Ming Han did two things:
Firstly, he only prescribed medicine for three days. After three days, Zhang A Shui's wound would undoubtedly deteriorate, prompting him to seek Bai Ming Han's help again. Why did Bai Ming Han do this? The reason is simple—he aims to locate Snow Wolf. Zhang A Shui is a member of the Snow Wolf espionage organization, and although the special task force failed to locate him after his escape, Zhang A Shui voluntarily sought medical assistance from Bai Ming Han. However, Bai Ming Han cannot expose himself. So, how can he ensure that the special task force captures Zhang A Shui?
Bai Ming Han deliberately exposes a vulnerability, making himself a suspect before the special task force approaches him for questioning. He confesses voluntarily, mentioning that he only provided medication to Zhang A Shui for three days. Consequently, the special task force will undoubtedly set up an ambush at his residence to capture Zhang A Shui.
Only when Zhang A Shui is apprehended can the hidden spies and Snow Wolf lurking in the shadows come to light. Of course, there may be flaws in the special task force's plan, leading to Zhang A Shui's injury and unconsciousness. However, even if the special task force doesn't seek Bai Ming Han's help in reviving Zhang A Shui, Bai Ming Han will ensure that the information about his ability to awaken Zhang A Shui is conveyed to them through Bai Hui. If Zhang A Shui fails to regain consciousness, all of Bai Ming Han's previous careful intentions would be in vain."
