I Love You: A Refreshing Benchmark in Chinese Romance Dramas

Ever since Zhang Wanyi rose to fame in "Awakening Era," the quality of the resources and roles he has received has been steadily improving. For example, his portrayal of Xiao Kugua in "The Glory of the Older Generation" and Dr. Chen Hui in "Extraordinary Doctor" were both outstanding. It can be said that every character Zhang Wanyi has portrayed is captivating, making viewers reluctant to fast forward even for a second. However, what truly attracted me and broke through my defenses was his role as Zhao Jin in the urban romance drama "I Love You."

Zhao Jin straightforwardly expresses his affection for Xu Nuo, and he does so quite directly. There is no ambiguity. Of course, Xu Nuo is not one to hold back either; she directly tells Zhao Jin, "I have a boyfriend! Let's just be friends!" But how does Zhao Jin respond? Because of the characters Zhang Wanyi has previously portrayed, they were mostly subtle and reserved, with love hidden in their hearts but difficult to express.

Suddenly, in this series, Zhao Jin is so straightforward and pursues the girl so intensely that it can be quite surprising. It can be said that "I Love You" is definitely a new benchmark in Chinese romance dramas. The speed and directness with which the main characters express their love is unparalleled. However, in this drama, Zhang Wanyi's character still has a touch of bitterness.

Although he is an outstanding young man, his character is divorced, and his ex-wife suddenly disappeared, becoming a joke among friends. And it doesn't end there; his father seems a bit unreliable too, liking to drink and fight, and neglecting his children. What's even more tragic is that he has a seriously ill sister who needs care.

Xu Nuo tells him, "Why don't we meet right now!" When Zhao Jin receives the message, he immediately rushes to meet Xu Nuo. With light snow falling from the sky, the male lead runs to meet the person he wants to see. This scene is simply romantic beyond words. Of course, even more romantic are the subsequent meetings between the male and female leads. This is love, this is romance.

When you want to meet someone you like, you can only go running. But the most romantic moment for Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo is the scene in the coffee shop, when they sit by the window, watching the snowflakes outside. The atmosphere is simply perfect. As a romance drama, "I Love You" succeeds in creating the right ambiance and features attractive main characters, making it one of the most outstanding dramas in recent years.

Although this boyfriend has kept her waiting for ten years and has not given her marriage, and he is already preparing to cheat, before he actually cheats, Xu Nuo and Zhao Jin cannot cross the threshold of friendship. What's even more awkward is that Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo's boyfriend know each other and often meet. Sooner or later, the relationship among these three people will be discovered, and it will surely become a big drama.

However, what I am truly anticipating and curious about is Zhao Jin's ex-wife. Based on my speculation about this series, the appearance of Zhao Jin's ex-wife will definitely be a bombshell.

And coincidentally, it will happen just when Zhao Jin and Xu Nuo overcome all obstacles and finally decide to be together.

Although this plot may be a bit cliché, it is genuinely captivating. Therefore, I am truly excited and looking forward to the upcoming developments in the story.
