A bunch of fights accompanied by intense background music, attempting to create a martial arts atmosphere, but in reality, despite numerous fight scenes, there are hardly any coherent martial arts movements. It's all freeze frames and slow-motion shots. Also, I really can't stand the cheesy dialogue.

My mom specifically called me to complain about how ugly the male actors are, and I couldn't even find the words to comfort her... Actually, I have a pretty high tolerance for appearances. After all, I can even watch those unattractive actors in daily dramas. However, in historical dramas, I really can't stand the poor posture. Can't those people with hunched backs and sunken chests lean against a wall for 15 minutes before going on set!
I quite like the character development of the little princess. I have a feeling that she will have a significant character arc. If I'm wrong, then so be it...
As for the plot, it's currently in the "watchable but not necessary" category. But can we please stop talking about giving birth all the time? Has it really come to this point of excessive emphasis on childbirth...

I would give Liu Shi Shi three stars for her action scenes and some parts of the plot. However, the supporting cast's acting falls short, and their appearances make their attractiveness even lower. Surprisingly, the fans praise them as beautiful. Can't the male lead's headgear be adjusted to avoid lowering his hairline, which perfectly exposes his flaws? And some parts of the plot feel like they're forcing the female lead to boost the male lead, right? ... Deducting one star.

The story is dragging on and on. Liu Yu Ning isn't necessarily ugly, but he's really not good-looking either. And he only has one expression, maybe he should stop acting altogether. Holland's voice seems to be on a different track from everyone else. Liu Shi Shi is so beautiful, she should have more screen time. I haven't discovered how great this drama is yet, but I'm still watching it because of Liu Shi Shi. A woman doesn't necessarily need to be all about romance, but she definitely needs to have her own child! I give this drama a five out of ten! // Update after watching episode 18: It's terrible!

The beginning was really enjoyable, but the more I watched, the less I could stand it. Can't they just focus on being assassins instead of getting involved in romance? It's a common problem in historical dramas. Romance is romance, and missions are missions. They don't have to conflict, right? And the more I watched, the uglier the male lead became. He's one of the least attractive actors I've seen recently. He should stick to singing instead of acting. The female lead's looks barely pass, but as for acting, I won't even mention the male lead.

I initially thought it was okay, but ever since I witnessed some fans fighting at the scene, it made me feel a bit nauseous... It really affects the viewing experience... Since the fans of the top actress don't allow viewers to ship couples freely, let's focus on the main storyline. I'll give three stars to the screenwriter and director. As for the actors, none of them have acting skills. Some use their own voices, while others rely on dubbing. But I won't give them negative scores either. Let's just leave it at that.

The plot is good, the pacing is well-executed, and the supporting roles shine. Overall, there aren't any major issues. However, can we please have a different male lead?
The chemistry between the male and female leads doesn't work. When I was watching Bai Chou Fei's scenes, I thought it was fine. But who can understand the frustration of seeing a beautiful shot of the female lead followed by a close-up of the male lead's face?
The compatibility between the female lead and the second male lead is much better. The male lead's face doesn't compare to the other male characters, and it's disheartening to see a barrage of fans in the comments praising his looks. It really bothers me.

The only awkward aspect of this drama is the male lead. The character itself should have been someone with personal charm, both righteous and wicked. However, Liu Yu Ning portrayed him as a weird and ambiguous eunuch-like figure. Whether it's an issue with his acting or his personal aura, we can't be sure. But the female lead's acting is consistently good, and she is beautiful as well. Can't they pair a beautiful woman with a handsome man? This isn't a palace drama, must they pair a beautiful woman with a eunuch?

I watched ten episodes in one go, and all the actresses in the drama are amazing. Their styling is so beautiful and pretty. This is the first drama of Liu Shi Shi that I've watched in these recent years, and I have to say she looks stunning. The styling is just perfect, so beautiful and cool that I can say it countless times! The gracefulness and fight scenes are fantastic! The princess is also adorable, and the actress portrays the role so well. I still remember watching a drama (forgot the name) where she played the young version of Song Qian. Even back then, I thought she was a talented actress. It was the first time I heard the name He Lan Dou, and it felt so unique, haha. Chen Du Ling also made a great guest appearance. She's really beautiful. I'm very satisfied with the female cast of this drama, but unfortunately, there aren't many male actors who catch my eye... I won't say much about the male lead. The character played by Li Tong Guang had the potential to attract fans, but the actor isn't a good fit. Sigh, I can't help but imagine how much better-looking this drama would be with better male actors...

Can you guess what I want to say? I'll give Liu Shi Shi three stars. I have no words for the supporting actors who seem to have their brains sucked out inexplicably, all for the sake of highlighting the male lead. And why is everyone bullying the protagonist? Why is he placed in opposition to everyone else? Is he some kind of major villain, I wonder? Choosing an unattractive internet celebrity to play the male lead is not good for me, I can't even close my eyes in time. Accidentally catching a glimpse is considered an occupational injury for me~

I shouldn't have clicked on this drama because of Liu Shi Shi. Now I'm being served with disappointment and can't bear to deduct more stars. I feel so uncomfortable. After the disappointment of "An Le Chuan," I shouldn't have held onto the lucky thought that this time, with an 85% rating, the situation might be better. And what's with the female doctor? Didn't she already get a white-washing and become the empress? Not satisfied, so we have to recycle it again? Is the screenwriter obsessed with her?

Just like what Ning Yuan Zhou said, both of them have bigger individual responsibilities, and the burden on their shoulders is very heavy. It's so heavy that it might be too much for this overwhelming love to bear. I hope for a happy ending.

The so-called original scripts are tailored in reverse, guessing the audience's points of enjoyment and stringing them together to create a drama. This development path bears a resemblance to sketches in the Spring Festival Gala, and the result is that TV dramas fail to inspire viewers to contemplate values. Instead, they become increasingly dull and lackluster. Chinese TV dramas have reached a hopeless state of development...

Not bad, it's an ensemble drama, and most of the characters are great. Liu Shi Shi is the goddess of period costumes, her grace and elegance are unparalleled in the entertainment industry. Her acting has improved tremendously, and the role of the princess is remarkably well-rounded with a complete character arc. Each step she takes is logical, and her chemistry with Thirteen is off the charts. Yuan Lu is adorable and does a fantastic job portraying a pure and innocent character. Li Tong Guang is doing a decent job with his eccentric character so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing his acting in the later episodes. It's my first time watching the male lead act, and although there's been a lot of online criticism, it's not that bad. His lines are decent, but his acting is average and not outstanding. The most disliked aspect of this drama for me is the intimate scenes between the male and female leads. There's a kind of greasy, fatherly vibe to it. If there were fewer romance scenes, the rating could be higher.

After watching three episodes, here's my general impression. Liu Shi Shi is truly beautiful, but she's too thin. It would be better if she had a bit more curves. Is it dubbed? Well, the voice feels quite off. The costumes and set design are not bad. Now, let's talk about the male lead. The casting choice is really poor. He has a pointed face and looks too skinny. He actually resembles a villainous character and his voice acting is also subpar. Many of the casting choices in this drama feel too "creamy" and inexperienced. They all look so young. The fight scenes are somewhat watchable, and the visual quality of the footage is amazing. Each frame could be a wallpaper. Lastly, the plot progresses too slowly. There are no major highlights or pleasantly surprising moments. Instead, some parts try too hard to be funny and end up being awkward.

Who wants to watch the main characters being all lovey-dovey and romantic all the time in an ensemble drama? The female lead was initially portrayed as an independent female assassin, but as the story progresses and she starts dating, I feel like there's a touch of being a doting wife... It's quite disconnected from her previous image. It would have been great if they focused on the ensemble cast instead. I really like the other characters, but as the story goes on, it feels like it takes a sour turn, with all the characters revolving around the male lead and serving him. Now, whenever I see the male lead, I feel annoyed... But the mentor-disciple storyline is really engaging, and the princess's character development is also well-done.

I couldn't resist making a comment after watching Episode 22. I understood the display of power by the Liu Dao Tang in Wuguo in the earlier episodes, but now that they're in Anguo, how can they be so arrogant with just a few of them accompanying? Their own monarch is even being held captive by someone else. Who is the victorious side here? The princess even said that even if she's captured by Anguo, there are still Liu Dao Tang members everywhere. Then I have to ask, why are you even here? Where's the logic? If Liu Dao Tang is so powerful, they should just storm the prison and rescue the Wudi directly. And in the latest preview, the female lead confronts Zhu Yi Wei, and then the male lead appears out of nowhere and wipes the blood off the female lead's mouth? Setting aside the fact that the female lead can handle that group of people on her own, it's just strange to insert a romantic scene at such a moment.

Both lead actors are great, and I really like them. However, after watching six episodes, I just couldn't bear it anymore. The director's camera language is so outdated, my goodness. There are all kinds of shots focusing on the male lead as if it's a runway show, and the action scenes are filmed without any aesthetic sense, resembling a PowerPoint presentation. Liu Shi Shi has been relying on dubbing for so many years, deducting one star. And the male lead's face is truly lacking in appeal, deducting another star. If Liu Yu Ning were to act in modern dramas, his face would barely pass, but historical dramas really put a person's looks to the test. Once he puts on ancient attire, his eyes look small and his nose appears large, completely inadequate. Moreover, the female lead's sister on the other side has a stunning appearance, which results in a stark contrast when the male and female leads are together on screen. His face, which is at most suited for supporting roles, simply cannot compare to Liu Shi Shi's protagonist face.

I watched this drama for Liu Shi Shi and Chen Hao Yu. Now that I've seen the actor playing Xiaohouye, the teacher-student relationship and Chu Yue's romance storyline are interesting. For the first time, I'm not invested in the main plotline of a drama. The only reason I'm not giving it a high rating is that, apart from these three aspects, I don't have the desire to watch the entire series.

Who on earth is watching this? Who gave it a 7.5 rating? Firstly, historical drama actors should at least be good-looking, and they should have decent martial arts skills and be able to handle fight scenes. This whole drama lacks any coherent plot. It feels like a haphazardly put together piece.

It's okay. The initial high expectations couldn't be met because the plot started off too strongly and then fizzled out in the middle, failing to meet the audience's anticipation for a gripping storyline. But looking at this writer, it doesn't seem like they're capable of creating a compelling plot anyway. They can only focus on addressing women's issues and preaching (the previous work was an epic disaster). The political intrigue storyline is child's play, and the dragging plot is simply because they can't write anything better. It's hilarious... The third male lead is great off-screen, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they bypass the love triangle and focus solely on developing the drama's central couple.

It's been a long time since I've seen a period drama that doesn't deceive the audience. Whether it's the character relationships or the plot, it's unpredictable. The villains die on the same day, and the antagonists are revealed the next day. Misunderstandings and conflicts between the male and female leads don't last more than three days. It's truly an exhilarating drama-watching experience. There's a deep-rooted malice towards the male lead online, although his acting isn't transformative, it doesn't break the immersion. The leading actress has maintained her exceptional blind acting skills for over a decade, and she's truly a gifted performer. The fight scenes are also impressive. But in the recent episodes, I realized that the female lead is purely a tool for the male lead's love story. I'm really frustrated. I loved this drama so much. When it first aired, I couldn't get enough of it. I couldn't find the novel it was based on, so I bought the script on a second-hand platform to read it. But as I continued watching the drama, something felt off. Where were the scenes of the female lead turning the tide? What happened to those lines promoting independent thinking for women? Why did everything revolve around the male lead and his shining moments? It's like all the female characters were just decorations. I did some online research and discovered the concept of "yin-yang scripts." It was truly eye-opening. The female lead acted in a yang script, while the male lead and his body double acted in a yin script. The male lead even had his original lines, so it's impossible not to know about it. People online kept blaming the female lead, but anyone who has actually watched the drama can see the disjointedness throughout the entire series, right? They even marketed it with a fake script, and the third male lead never even mentioned it was fake, but he got caught up in the controversy. I hope more people speak up, or else future dramas will only get worse. The entertainment industry will only deteriorate further if we keep criticizing without improvement!

The male actor's unattractiveness really affects the viewing experience. The storyline about getting pregnant is truly disgusting. Does the screenwriter actually think that "borrowing sperm to have a child" showcases the female lead's agency...? Everyone understands the intentions behind the so-called "fun" and "relationship development.
Would a top-notch female assassin choose to get pregnant right when she has an important mission to complete? If she doesn't end up getting romantically involved with the male lead in the end, I could at least respect that decision, but obviously that's not possible? ??? (Giving up. This drama heavily relies on the supporting cast to shine. Without malicious cinematography, dialogue, character design, and plot, it appears too ordinary. The fight scenes in each episode should be played in slow motion like in "Sword Snow Stride" and "Legend of Yunxi" during the grand finale. Shi Shi is truly beautiful and consistently delivers impressive action scenes. However, there has been no progress in her dialogue and acting skills. The voice dubbing feels like arrogant Ye Fan is speaking in my head. If the male lead was replaced with Huo Jianhua from "The Imperial Doctress," this drama might have exploded. Although the male lead's face is not great, the normal character design and plot save his less handsome appearance. Yu Shi San's character becomes too greasy if pushed too hard, but unexpectedly becomes the comic relief in the drama. Currently, each character has growth and their own story arcs. Personally, I am looking forward to the process of the princess growing into an empress. The fight scenes are not lenient, and I must say this drama is very supportive of breast health. The villains you think will be defeated in the next second are actually spared. If this were "Legend of Yunxi," they would have been swiftly dealt with in the second part.

It's the type of historical drama that I enjoy, with the main characters supporting each other to complete missions. However, I find the romance aspect a bit average, so I often fast forward through those scenes. The male lead's character should be likable, with high martial arts skills, strong leadership abilities, and respect for women. Many memorable lines are attributed to him. But somehow, it just doesn't resonate with me. I can't quite put my finger on what's missing.
The female lead is beautiful, and her character is very captivating. She's knowledgeable yet pure-hearted, and her charisma is convincing. The action scenes are not as stunning as I expected. I'm not a fan of the slow-motion and freeze-frame style. However, the ensemble scenes are quite interesting.
I want to be friends with Ren Ru Yi. She may not be good with words, but she always notices her friends' emotions and can sense that Yuan Lu wants to be treated like a normal person. She understands the princess's feelings of guilt.
She's really great.
Ren Ning's interactions are both sweet and heartbreaking. I'm starting to worry about the direction it will take later on.
Liu Shi Shi is so beautiful, and the fight scenes are impressive. That's what real fight scenes should be like, not just superficial moves. Her acting skills are strong enough to carry a whole drama. The female actors are all stunningly beautiful, while the male actors are just average, and their acting skills are not outstanding either.
Luckily, the storyline is good. I understand that the male actors weren't cast for their handsome appearances, except for Thirteen. Haha! But Thirteen's acting skills are really good, refreshing and smooth. I've watched up to episode 18!
I initially wanted to finish watching before giving a rating, but I can't stand it anymore. I have never felt such a strong sense of disgust towards the male lead and his fans. These five stars are my encouragement to the other actors, you guys did well.
The problem lies with the disgusting capital and the ugly person, as well as the crazy fans who forcefully elevate him as a heaven-sent being! Objectively speaking, I would give this drama around 3.5-4 stars. Lastly, I'm looking forward to the Bamboo Arc of Fox Spirit Matchmaker.
It's so good, incredibly good. The cinematography is beautiful, especially when the female lead first appears. It's all about highlighting her beauty, so beautiful! Really, so beautiful!
The male lead has such a strong presence and charisma. The plot is powerful, and the chemistry between the male and female leads is overflowing. The action scenes are amazing. It's one of the few great dramas this year!
Absolutely mind-blowing!
I don't mean to criticize, but when compared to the beautifully choreographed fight scene between Xiang Si Xiang Liu and Cangxuan, it's clear that there is a lack of aesthetic appeal.
The story revolves around Ren Ru Yi, a former envoy of the An Kingdom's Zhu Yi Wei, who becomes a member of a small team sent by the Wu Kingdom to welcome the emperor. Alongside Ning Yuan Zhou, the leader of the Wu Kingdom's Six Dao Tang, the charismatic Yu Shi San, the princess Yang Ying, the clever young Yuan Lu, and the imperial guard Qian Zhao, they go through life and death situations and grow together.
Ren Ru Yi and Ning Yuan Zhou have a complex love-hate relationship. Let's dive into the drama on KwoStar!
I would give all five stars to Shi Shi. She's a beauty paired with a less appealing male lead. If it weren't for Shi Shi, I wouldn't even bother watching. Every time the camera focuses on the male lead, it feels like he doesn't fit the role, and I can't understand how people can praise his acting despite his unattractive appearance.
It's superficial acting, with a strong sense of pretentiousness. Can he please go back to being an internet celebrity? Don't continue to torture the viewers' eyes.
Help! I'm only lukewarm about Liu Shi Shi and Liu Yu Ning, but I didn't expect this drama to be so good! I love the strong male and female lead characters! It's incredibly enjoyable! "You'd better not pretend and look more pleasing to the eye" had me laughing so hard.
And I really love the revenge-driven personalities of the main characters. It's truly satisfying to watch, haha.
Damn, it's really fantastic! Whoever says it's not good, I don't care about them. And if someone says the male lead isn't good-looking, I don't care about them either.
Last time, I watched a drama that aired in 2021 and didn't even finish it before giving up.
Finally, I've found a domestically produced drama with such great quality. I'm quite picky, but this drama is truly exceptional.
At first, I thought the male lead wasn't handsome, but after watching it, I fell deeply in love. I want to defend the male lead's honor! The chemistry between the male and female leads is perfect!
I'm a supporter of the official pairing! Let's cheer for this amazing drama!
It's been a while since I've seen such a genuinely heartfelt original script! I'm done with all those messy adaptations and remakes! The director's skills are impressive, and the cinematography is truly top-notch. The female characters are all so beautiful and vibrant, but can we please do something about the male lead's wig?
There were a few scenes where his forehead was reduced to a tiny triangle. Who on earth glued that wig on...
This is definitely a drama that revolves around a strong female lead. She has maximum combat skills, intelligence, beauty, and a clear mind. She knows what she needs and wants.
However, she still can't overcome the fact that the male lead is even stronger than her. The master-disciple couple is even more enjoyable to watch.
It's okay. The fight scenes of the leading actress are impressive, but the male lead is a bit ugly. I feel like his character doesn't match him. He and Zuer have a compatible aura, and they would make a good couple onscreen.
This drama feels a bit visually overwhelming, and there is no chemistry between the female lead and the male lead.
None of these factors have discouraged me! I'm truly captivated by this couple!
The supporting cast is also well-portrayed, evoking both tears and laughter. I hope the future episodes won't be too heartbreaking!
It's incredible, especially the standout moments of certain characters in a few episodes. His Highness is like starting from a beginner's village and gradually leveling up by fighting monsters.
This setup is fantastic as it gives unlikeable characters the chance to shine. And then there's Liu Shi Shi's portrayal of Princess Huyang, which has such intense character development.
I can't believe it only scored 7.5 points. Personally, I think this drama deserves an 8.5 or higher. If it had a stronger world-building, it would be unbeatable. Well, you see, I rarely give post-viewing evaluations.
So far, everything I've watched is pretty good. There are no weird camera angles, and the filters are decent. The actors' performances are also impressive, especially the male lead, Ning Yuan Zhou.
He really shook me in the funeral scene. The acting feels solid. I'll keep watching and hope the future storyline doesn't disappoint. For now, I'll give it five stars, but I'll continue to judge as I go along.
I take back the five-star rating I initially gave. I can't bear to watch it anymore. The female lead always shines, but the male characters keep stealing the spotlight.
In the later episodes, the female lead completely forgets her original purpose and becomes a loyal subject of the Wuguo Kingdom. She helps the diplomatic mission while being in a romantic relationship with the male lead.
Even seeking revenge for her mother takes a backseat. It's truly frustrating. I'm only giving it two stars for Liu Shi Shi's performance, which has improved compared to her previous works.
The first 10 episodes were pretty good, but later on, it became quite average. There were too many romantic scenes, the male lead wasn't attractive, and the female lead was too beautiful.
Because of that, I couldn't continue watching. By the 20th episode, I genuinely hoped that the male lead would just disappear. The focus was always on the female lead's overpowered character or her relationship with the young general.
The male lead should stick to singing because, apart from his height, he has no acting skills whatsoever.
We're already halfway through the series, and it's increasingly becoming a one-man show for the male lead. He solves everything, which is really frustrating! Everyone else is just a tool, constantly playing the roles of a top-notch mediator, paparazzo, or patient, but they don't do any real work.
Thankfully, Du Zhang Shi doesn't have many lines and doesn't try to steal the spotlight, and there's also the beautiful filter on Bai Yun Fei. Three stars for all the supporting characters.
I'll give three points to the earlier plot, but currently, it's becoming tasteless and feels like a waste to continue watching. In the first dozen episodes, I thought it would be about Ren Ru Yi enjoying the world, being righteous, and incidentally falling in love, with romance being just a decoration.
But in the recent episodes, I realized that the female lead is purely a tool for the male lead's love story. Despite the female lead having a powerful background, she constantly needs the male lead to save her.
Even the disciples she's training can't even handle a single move from the male lead, which is frustrating to watch.
How is it only rated 7.5? Those who say the male lead isn't good-looking, have they seriously watched the storyline? It's been years since I've seen such a thrilling plot and such a sincere creative team. It deserves five stars!
Those who haven't watched it should watch it first before giving their evaluation. Let's not spread baseless negativity.
It's unbelievable how smoothly this male internet celebrity transitioned into being an actor. He even managed to snatch the spotlight and turn the drama into a male-centric one.
His acting skills and looks are subpar. He should stick to singing and relying on popularity rather than crossing over to pollute the audience's eyes. And there are hordes of fans trying to cover up his flaws.
If he wants to continue being an actor, he should seriously consider taking some training classes. When female internet celebrities tried to venture into acting, they faced so much criticism, but when it comes to a guy, he magically becomes the main lead and changes the whole storyline?
Ridiculous!
I'll give an extra star for Liu Shi Shi's beauty. The pacing of the plot is still the same, and the flaws in these years of ancient puppet dramas are similar—exaggerated acting, unnecessary scenes for supporting characters, and forced elements.
The male lead is really ugly to the point where it's hard to endure.
A great period drama, with all the actors delivering excellent performances and the dialogue being fantastic. The screenwriter is amazing. Overall, a good production cannot be achieved without the hard work of every actor, director, and staff member involved.
Highly recommended!
??? (Giving up. After episode 20, the characters lose their charm... How did they manage to become less and less charismatic as the show progressed?)
Giving five stars to Liu Shi Shi. She's stunningly beautiful and her acting is top-notch. Sister Gu is absolutely gorgeous. But! The male internet celebrity from the rat clan is really disrespectful to my eyes, making me watch face-swapping scenes.
Deducting one star for that. The editing by the production team turned into a mess by giving too much screen time to the rat clan internet celebrity. Deducting another star. It's a mess.
The male lead doesn't quite fit in historical costumes, he looks a bit ugly. The female lead appears too stiff, with lifeless eyes, and her acting hasn't improved.
The fight scenes are quite well-executed, and their physicality is decent. The plot feels a bit cliché, and there's no chemistry between the male and female leads, which really affects the overall viewing experience.
