The more I watch, the more I criticize how brainless the current TV dramas have become in terms of scriptwriting. Have they ever put themselves in the characters' shoes? Each plot and character development should be based on the character's own attributes, instead of the writers arbitrarily choosing whatever they want. There's a strong sense of detachment. Most of the plotlines in the drama are just too far-fetched. If such people actually existed, I dare say that at least eight out of ten choices would lead to different plot developments. Every decision made by a character should take into account their knowledge, personality, background, and environment. Otherwise, there's a severe disconnect in character development, making it difficult to immerse oneself in the story. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the actors or the writers. Take, for example, the female lead. As a former wealthy young lady, her memories, knowledge, and personality completely disappear after time travel, turning her into a submissive and timid character. Well, I won't say anymore. There are just too many instances of this jarring inconsistency.

I binge-watched ten episodes in one night. Xiaoyuan's crying scenes are so heart-wrenching, and I love how she stands up for herself without favoring anyone. Four stars overall, with a biased bonus for the good looks of the male and female leads. The male lead's dialogues and acting skills are a bit weak, relying mostly on his height and appearance. Although there are moments when their looks don't match up to their off-screen appearances, I can forgive it as long as the plot keeps me engaged. The female lead's lines may be weaker at times, but she performs well, especially in crying scenes. However, I have to say, the seventh episode really got on my nerves because of the male lead.

Well, I hope this is the last absurd drama I watch this year. Nine episodes and still stuck in an internet café for one episode and a hair salon for seven episodes. It's neither grounded nor idol-like. I don't know what kind of absurdity this is. The suspenseful part is also suspenseful in a way that doesn't make me want to continue. It just feels dragged out and boring, with unnecessary mystification. And to top it off, the male lead's character is poorly written, and his acting is mediocre. Even in this kind of idol drama that doesn't demand much acting skills, Liu Hao Cun outshines him. It's been years of wasting time on idol dramas like this.

I don't understand why they had to make some meaningless cuts... I'll deduct one star for that. The plot is somewhat watchable, but it doesn't have any particular appeal to me. The theme is quite innovative, but I'm just not interested. It's like a tasteless dish that's a pity to abandon. For now, it's barely held together by the attractiveness of the male and female leads. At least this drama is visually pleasing to my eyes. The tension and atmosphere between the two characters are truly remarkable. They know how to create excitement. That princess-hugging deep squat scene was absolutely incredible. I almost wanted to stan them.

I watched "Off the Rails" just for Liu Hao Cun's face... Is this considered an outstanding drama in mainland China? I don't watch mainland dramas, so I'm not sure about the current standards... but I have to say: it's a poorly made drama.
The male lead is like a block of ice. How can anyone mistake the portrayal of bipolar disorder and the seemingly XSR-like plot as sexual tension? When they say they want to see the male lead regretful, do they have Stockholm syndrome or something? In real life, that would definitely be considered today's talking point.

Cunzi is beautiful, and while Lin Yi is handsome, he doesn't really get into the role. It feels like a handsome guy reciting lines without much immersion. His acting skills need improvement. I'll reevaluate after I finish watching the entire series when I have time.
I heard the novel is really well-written, and I quite like redemption stories. They're more interesting than mindless, overly sweet romances. However, I'm not a big fan of the parts set in the hair salon. There are quite a few flaws, but compared to the neighboring drama camp, it's a clear winner.

Watched it for the visuals, but the plot progression is a bit slow. It tries to have a touch of suspense, but falls short. Liu Hao Cun looks absolutely beautiful! And their acting is good too, especially in crying scenes. They portray a pitiful and tearful character very well. However, there are some character development issues with Lin Yi in this drama. Compared to other roles, their performance feels a bit wooden. The director tried to stay true to the original intention, at least it's not misleading or deceptive...

I don't know why Sunzi gives me the impression of a high school student. He's too immature, and I can't continue watching. I'm still stuck in the era of Qiong Yao's melodramas and idol dramas like "Prince Turns into a Frog" and "Chinese Paladin" with Zhao Ling'er and Li Xiaoyao. It's a whole golden age that we can't go back to, and it's a real pity.

First of all, nobody wants to watch how a shampoo girl becomes Tony. The endless babbling about learning hairdressing is just tedious... There's absolutely no suspense or deduction in this drama. The hair salon is turned into a harem, it's utterly boring... And is the male lead going insane??? Acting crazy.

Qi Lian's love is hidden in the details. In Episode 10, when the female lead coughed, Qi Lian prepared hot water and medicine for her. What's more amazing is that he was afraid she might forget, so he directly handed the medicine to her. Oh my! He loves her so much!

Catching up. It seems like domestic directors lack the concept of pacing (or perhaps the ability to control it?). If viewed as a suspense or high-drama show, it's quite boring, with very little valuable information in each episode. However, as an idol drama, it's completely okay. The setting, the female lead's character, and the core storyline stand out as normal, clear, and refined amidst a sea of brainless idol dramas. The workplace aspect is a bit awkward but not overdone. There are no plot leaks, and it has a strong atmospheric and Westernized feel. Even someone like me, who's picky about dramas, can enjoy it. It's one of the rare modern dramas with a logical and well-developed plot. Liu Hao Cun's acting skills are more than sufficient for an idol drama, but their presence could use some improvement. Lin Yi seems to compensate for their lack of acting skills with height, as they only have one expression throughout the entire show. If you're into shipping handsome guys and beautiful girls, you'll enjoy it (I'm talking about myself here).

I used to dislike Liu Hao Cun, but now there are too many average-looking actresses, making Liu's acting skills and appearance more and more pleasant to watch.
Ironically, although this is a time-travel drama, its portrayal of life and the workplace feels more grounded than those CEO romance dramas. Some netizens even consider it low because why can't the female protagonist be a struggling network administrator or a hairdresser? It just goes to show that many film and television works have been detached from reality for too long.
Compared to others in the same industry, this drama can be considered successful. After watching the latest episodes, my impressions are: the female lead is too stubborn, her thinking is too clear, and the supporting character is too good at crying. Finally, it's not a cliché portrayal of a fake-faced, heavily made-up hypocrite. Most importantly, it doesn't come off as pretentious!

In particular, Sun Zi caught my attention. The voice acting and natural performance, especially in emotional scenes, are delicate and advanced. It's not like many popular actresses who cry dramatically. The height difference between the male and female leads looks quite compatible. Currently, the character development of the male lead in the early episodes is slightly imperfect, but I'm looking forward to seeing more well-rounded character arcs in the upcoming episodes. I'm watching this. It's solely sustained by the attractiveness of the main actors. There are many aspects I want to criticize. The male lead acts irrationally, and the female lead's character is too much of a Mary Sue. It's not realistic for her to repeatedly overcome impossible situations solely based on effort and self-belief. It's not that a hardworking character is unacceptable, but rather the unrealistic foundation of a hardworking character without any grounding is quite off-putting.

I'd give it a 2.5 rating. The concept of the drama, where the rich young lady "transmigrates" into a parallel universe as a hairdresser, is clearly a plot device derived from body-switching literature. In just a second, she goes from being a gentle guy's love interest to someone easily controlled. The character development is over the top. The acting skills are so-so, relying heavily on the original work to support the differences in appearance and body shape. The quality of domestic idol dramas is relatively good. The visuals are also impressive. Lin Yi and Liu Hao Cun both have good looks and figures, which are quite fitting. When watching this drama, it's important not to have any biased views towards the actors. Liu Hao Cun's crying scenes are quite moving, but both of them have some issues with their lines. It would be better to use dubbing. However, overall, it is still one of the best idol dramas this year.

Genuine handsome men and beautiful women, a true sense of atmosphere, the real main characters who can actually act. It all resonates with me on various levels. I hope the storyline doesn't suddenly collapse or lose its coherence.
Even if the logic doesn't quite add up, as long as it delivers emotional thrills and touches my heart, that's fine. I've been eagerly anticipating the teasers for so long, thankfully I wasn't deceived.
I've watched three episodes so far, and the pacing is so slow. Overall, it's still pretty good. I've fallen in love with Lin Yi again, sob sob sob. Even though the male lead's character is a bit crazy, the forced love aspect is really enjoyable and thrilling!
It's such a shame that this drama is being aired late at night. Seriously, why don't they add more episodes? I can't take it anymore!
I started watching it because of Lin Yi, but unexpectedly, I fell in love with Liu Hao Cun. She truly deserves the title of "strategist lady" as her acting is incredibly versatile. I won't comment on the plot...
It's just so awkward to transplant the delicacy of Korean dramas into a hair salon setting... The feeling of Xia Hua filming at the hair salon is particularly enjoyable and enticing.
It's really good! It reminds me of "Want to See You in That Year" from that winter. I'm currently on episode 12, and even though I've read the novel, the plot in the drama is different, and it keeps me guessing.
I love it, love it! The atmosphere is spot on. It's the first enjoyable drama I'm watching this winter.
Watched 7 episodes and gave up. It's so frustrating. Both the male and female leads are stubborn. They're adults, can't they communicate more rationally? Plus, the female lead isn't even pretty.
She's far inferior to Xiao K, the hair-washing girl. It's so awkward that people keep calling her a beauty.
In terms of acting, even the Dungeon Master in a murder mystery game gets more immersed than them... The storyline is a complete mess. It's 2023, and there's no hint of any originality in the plot.
Everything feels forced and contrived, and I can always predict what the next step is going to be.
