Plot Synopsis
Jiang Xuening (played by Bai Lu) used all her cunning to become the Empress but was forced to commit suicide during apalace coup. Now, Jiang Xuening's dream is to distance herself frompower and take control of her own life. However, by a twist of fate, she becomes a companion to theprincess in thepalace and becomes a student of Imperial Tutor Xie Wei (played by Zhang Ling He). While accepting Xie Wei's guidance, Jiang Xuening secretlyplots toprevent the impending 'Blood Crown Ceremony' that her childhood friend Yan Lin (played by Zhou Jun Wei) is about to face. Through the strategicplanning of Jiang Xuening and Xie Wei, the Yan family's lives are saved.
After the turmoil of the Blood Crown Ceremony, Jiang Xuening unintentionally becomes involved in aplan by the court to eradicate the rebellion of thePrince ofPingnan. Together with her unrequited love Zhang Zhe (played by Wang Xing Yue), they infiltrate the enemy camp. At a critical moment, Jiang Xuening shields Zhang Zhe from an arrow with her own body, but their relationshipbecomes strained and they cannot be together. The enemy country, Da Yue, launches an invasion, andPrincess Shen Zhi Yi (played by Liu Xie Ning) resolutely embarks on a marriage alliance.
To rescue her friend Shen Zhi Yi, Jiang Xuening accompanies Xie Wei on a campaign against Da Yue. In the midst of numerous crises, Xie Wei even sacrifices himself toprotect Jiang Xuening, and their feelings for each other grow. However, a bigger conspiracy gradually comes to light,pointing directly to the truth of thePrince ofPingnan incident twenty years ago.
