Plot Synopsis

"To light the candles and illuminate others, without bringing darkness upon oneself." This is Romeo's attitude towards life.

"I thought I had to give upon love, but it turns out that love never gave upon me." This is Juliet's life experience.

The city of K is manipulated by two major families, the Lo and the Zhu, who have been engaged in a century-long struggle of grievances and conflicts. The Zhu family is involved in thepharmaceutical business, while the Lo family deals in arms trading. Each family occupies a different city, Hai Bei and Tian Nan, separated by a border where neither dares to stepinto the other's territory. Romeo coincidentally encounters Juliet and falls deeply in love with her, deciding to defy their family animosity and love her without hesitation. Liang Shanbo, on the other hand, deeply loves Zhu Yingtai but is unable topursue their love due to their differing social statuses.

To obtain the greatest love, one must make sacrifices, but are we capable of bearing such sacrifices? The four main characters, Liang Shanbo, Zhu Yingtai, Romeo, and Juliet, go through numerous hardships for the sake of love. In the end, Shanbo and Yingtai choose to sacrifice themselves, fulfilling the desires of others and transforming their love into selfless devotion, composing a grand,poignant, and tragic chapter ofpoetry.
