Episode 1: Peng Jinxi was reported by Qin Sheng.
The story begins in 1978 when Peng Jinxi, a 20-year-old from Xingcheng, Liaoning, finished his college entrance examination and started selling dried tofu in the ancient city hutongs of Hongluoxian. This behavior was considered profiteering and was not allowed by the local administration of industry and commerce at the time. Just as the day was breaking, Peng Jinxi and his two brothers brought back the dried tofu, unaware that the inspection team had already set up a dragnet. Episode 2: Peng Jin Xi was sentenced and sent to prison.
