1. Perspective of Yan'er:
a. Decision-making: Yan'er didn't want to let her sister down and gave up her own happiness by entering the palace. Watching Cheng'er grow up day by day, she treats him as her own child.
Even if she later finds out that her sister is evil, she would never give up on Cheng'er and would raise him well.
b. Five years apart: Yan'er certainly hasn't forgotten Yu Wen Yuan in the past five years and has been yearning for him.
But her current identity, status, and past actions make it difficult for her to face him. She's trying to protect him, but she also deeply loves him and can't express it. There are many things she wants to say, many words she can't utter, and many things she can't say...
She loves him, but this situation puts her in a dilemma.
When Yu Wen Yuan repeatedly says harsh words to her, deep down, she knows that he hasn't let go of her and still loves her.
But her position is very restrictive.
c. Key moment: When she finds out that the Emperor intends to kill him, she can't control herself anymore. She finally reaches her breaking point, filled with regret and guilt for bringing disaster upon him.
She cries in front of him... She loves him... loves him deeply.
2. Perspective of Yu Wen Yuan:
a. Five years ago: In the past five years, while spending time together, he gradually fell in love with this kind, innocent, and lovely girl.
Five years ago, he protected and cherished her. Even at the end of his life, his concern was whether her future partner could buy her beautiful dresses and ensure her lifelong safety.
b.
Beneath the palace wall: When she told him that she wanted to become the Empress, he couldn't believe it, but she walked away without looking back. He still didn't choose to pursue her.
3. In the past five years: He has been improving himself all these years just to be able to see her in the future. Besides that, he hasn't asked for anything more.
Five years later: After they meet, he repeatedly says harsh words to her, but with each word, his heart clenches.
Every time he sees her cry or forces her to do things, he's actually expressing how much he misses her. However, he can no longer say it directly, so he can only express his longing in this way.
Every time he looks into her eyes, it's a confession. Asking her to change her nightgown before going out, it's possessiveness, right? Getting jealous over and over again, he can only solve it by saying harsh words.
4. Inner thoughts:
He doesn't actually believe that she wants to be the Empress for the position. He knows she has her reasons but can't express them. He came five years later just hoping that one day he could hear her say it with her own mouth.
5. Key moment:
When he hears Yan'er say that she doesn't want to be his death warrant, he can't hold back anymore. All his longing and love burst out in an instant, turning into a tight hug.
So she has been protecting me all along, never forgetting me... She... has always loved me! In that moment, the struggle for the throne is only for better protecting her.
He loves her deeply, and if he could save her with his life, he would definitely do it willingly.
That's his Yan'er...
3. Finally, both of them express their love:
When Yu Wen Yuan sees the look in Yan'er's eyes as she's bound to the cross... the fear, anxiety, worry.
He's afraid... afraid that she will leave him. And when Yan'er sees him coming to save her, she's also extremely afraid, afraid that he will leave. In the face of deep fear, the two of them share a gentle kiss.
Yu Wen Yuan's love for Su Yan:
1. Even if Su Yan only likes him a little, he defied the imperial edict for her. Defying the imperial edict could cost him his life! It's like he's willing to give up his own life for Su Yan.
2. When the palace was in danger, Su Yan sent a message to Yu Wen Yuan asking for his rescue. Even though Su Yan said such cruel words to him five years ago, Yu Wen Yuan still came.
It shows that he has been loving Su Yan all along!
3. When Yu Wen Yuan asked Su Yan for a favor, he asked her to take off her clothes and leave only a thin veil on her body.
Su Yan pleaded with him, and he softened his heart, asking her to play the piano. Just as Chu Li was about to enter, he quickly hugged Su Yan and stood in front of her, so Chu Li couldn't see Su Yan's body.
It fulfilled his strong desire to protect her!
4. Su Yan gave him a protective amulet. Although he pretended not to want it, he secretly put it behind him.
5. When they were eating together, Su Yan remembered that he only drank the fish soup and didn't eat the fish.
Although he didn't show any emotions on the surface, he must have been extremely happy in his heart!
6. The phrase "wait for me to come back" from Su Yan made him very happy.
7. When the protective amulet Su Yan gave him fell, he went back to pick it up and got injured in the process. (It shows how much he cherishes the protective amulet Su Yan gave him.) He didn't want Su Yan to see him in that state.
8. He risked danger to bring Xiao Cheng'an back to Su Yan. He still loves Su Yan just like he did five years ago!
He gave her all his love and tenderness, and his only desire was "to have her by his side from beginning to end." Everything he did was just to have Su Yan return to him.
-Nanchuan Army Stay!
From the perspective of the female lead, since she has to enter the palace, logically speaking, she should never be able to be with the male lead as husband and wife again. If she doesn't make it clear and instead explains the reasons to him without completely breaking his heart, then the male lead is likely to never forget about her.
If Yu Wen Yuan faced a heartless and unfeeling Su Yan, he might feel hatred and think it's not worth it, but it's highly probable that he wouldn't be obsessed with her. He might fall in love with someone else, marry a woman who shares his interests and aspirations, and they would have a harmonious relationship, growing old together.
Instead of occupying the place in the male lead's heart that is meant for his beloved, the female lead hopes for the male lead's happiness, which is why she doesn't tell him the truth.
Later, during the rebellion of the Fan King, the female lead has no choice but to send a letter to the male lead.
After the male lead's army sets up camp in the palace, the female lead discovers the emperor's ambitions. So, she deliberately provokes the male lead, hoping to make him retreat for his own safety, rather than her letter causing his death.
From the perspective of the male lead, he was already formally engaged to the female lead, but when everything was arranged and he proposed to her, he found out that she wanted to marry the crown prince. He asked the female lead if it was her own decision, and if not, he was willing to go against the imperial decree for her.
However, the female lead told him that it was her heart's desire. So, on the day of the female lead's wedding to the crown prince, he barged into her chamber and left harsh words before returning to the southern region.
Later, when he saw the letter the female lead sent him, he thought she was changing her mind and wanting to be with him again. But after he quelled the rebellion, the female lead repeatedly doubted and questioned him.
However, with the male lead's intelligence, he knew that the female lead was trying to protect his safety. But he couldn't bear to leave her in the palace. So, even if the emperor suspected him of treason and disloyalty, he would stay in the palace to protect the female lead.
They don't refrain from explaining everything because they don't want to, but rather because they don't want to cause each other further difficulties. They can only hide their love for each other within these confrontational conversations.
5 years ago, we parted because of an imperial decree; 5 years later, we reunite because of a letter from Yan'er.
A'Yuan came, but Yan'er knew that the emperor wanted to harm him, so she had to speak harshly: "If the prince doesn't want to withdraw his troops, could it be that, as the rumors say, he wants to kill his own brother, seize power, and become the emperor?
A'Yuan felt hurt in his heart: "Is this what he thinks of me?" But after realizing that he was being too harsh, he calmed down and spoke.
Yan'er didn't want to speak harshly either, but for A'Yuan's sake, she had no choice but to do so.
Yan'er entered the palace as a concubine because of her sister's testament, but she also wanted to be with A'Yuan. However, for the sake of her sister, she spoke words that went against her heart: "My heart desires what it cannot obtain." After Yan'er left, A'Yuan stood in place with a bitter smile and repeated twice, "My heart desires what it cannot obtain." Those were his parting words, his expression and the corners of his eyes revealing his emotions.
His heart was breaking.
But they still loved each other and protected each other in their own ways. A'Yuan: When he heard someone badmouthing Yan'er at her wedding, he immediately fought back (that scene was really cool).
When Yan'er went to find A'Yuan, she seemed to want to humiliate him, but when Chu Li entered, she still protected Yan'er.
Yan'er: She didn't want to burden A'Yuan, so she intentionally spoke harshly to make him retreat to Nanjing.
Their emotions for each other remained pure.
Granting Him the Handle" is definitely the top scene in the drama. Feige and Jiajia's acting skills are also very good. I wish "Granting Him the Handle" will become a big hit, and I wish both lead actors further success in their careers.
[Episode 02 | Su Yan's Thoughts on Reunion]
In the second episode, Su Yan experiences a coup in the palace and is saved by the Nan Chuan army when she is on the verge of death.
For a woman in the palace, facing such a situation, she should be terrified.
But instead of resting in the palace, she "grooms herself" because of the Nan Chuan king.
She changes her original elaborate phoenix crown and pearl hairpins, removes the tassel pendant from her forehead, changes her hairstyle, and replaces all the pearl tassels with delicate thread tassels.
She transforms from a dignified and noble empress into someone approachable, gentle, and amiable.
In terms of her attire, she carefully selects and changes her outer robe to appear even more gentle. Overall, it gives a sense of closeness. I believe, firstly, she doesn't want to give Yu Wen Yuan a sense of aloofness and distance, especially since she wrote a letter begging him to come and save them in the crisis.
She doesn't want to intimidate him with her noble status as the empress, so her appearance is simple yet still elegant.
Secondly, I think Yan'er wants to present herself to Yu Wen Yuan in a completely different style than when she is in front of Yu Wen Ying Ren.
She distinguishes between the two clearly.
One is a performance for appearances, while the other is her deep love. After five years, she wants to see him, so she dresses herself up meticulously to face him in the best possible state.
Every step she takes is filled with anxiety and anticipation, until that moment when she sees him sitting on the couch, wiping his sword in his hand.
Her longing reaches its peak at that moment. Su Yan, holding back her tears, lifts the bead curtain and walks step by step towards Yu Wen Yuan.
Little did she know that she would receive Yu Wen Yuan's words, "The Empress is here but doesn't speak, and it makes this humble servant fearful." One mention of "Empress" and "humble servant" pushes their relationship into that of ruler and subject.
At this moment, Su Yan realizes that there is already distance between them, five years of distance. The pain of parting, they have both truly experienced it.
After watching it repeatedly, I have a deeper understanding and appreciation for their reunion scene.
Both of them portrayed their characters well. Su Yan's expression with furrowed brows, concealing her emotions, and Yu Wen Yuan's nonchalant demeanor, his eyes fixed on the sword's edge.
Two people who love each other but dare not meet each other's gaze, and yet they say words and do things that go against their true feelings.
If you pay attention to the subsequent plot, Su Yan rarely wears a crown on her head. Instead, she wears hairpins on the left and right sides. Perhaps it's also a subtle gesture?
Life is filled with hardships, but it is what it is. To love each other and be together silently, to accompany each other but mercilessly.
Since the emperor said that, it indirectly indicates that he has never truly loved anyone, so his feelings for Su Wan are insincere!
And shamelessly claiming that A Yuan doesn't deserve Yan Er's love, what right does he have to say such things?
Disgusting how he forcefully keeps Yan Er by his side!
Fortunately, Yan Er has remained rational throughout, with her intelligence intact. She accurately analyzed the emperor's intentions. How could Little White Rabbit have any malicious intentions?
She only wants her A Yuan to leave safely. That's why she had to say harsh words to him again. In reality, Yan Er's heart must be hurting too. She has to push her loved one away once again, just to protect him.
The details lie in every word Yan Er speaks in the room.
Her hairpin on her head trembles, seemingly from the dance, but it actually reflects her inner anxiety. She knows very well that by doing this, she will hurt A Yuan's heart once again. But compared to A Yuan's life, she would rather endure grievances and stay in the palace, and be ruthless in pushing him away from this place of danger.
When she said the words "blood splatters five steps," she had no other choice. She could only use her own life as a bet to "threaten" him to retreat to his fiefdom. Yan Er also knows that she is A Yuan's weak spot.
If A Yuan insists on staying, she can only do this. As long as A Yuan is safe, she is willing to do anything.
The gesture A Yuan made, indicating for Yan Er to leave, and the reopened wound, filled with a sense of shatteredness.
It's so heart-wrenching! 555 A Yuan, the eloquent and powerful warrior, is back online! Even though he's anxious in his heart, he stubbornly says, "What does it have to do with me?" But he also fears that the emperor may have ill intentions towards Yan Er.
At this moment, the unspoken subtext in his heart should be: If you dare to touch my woman, I will demolish this palace, and crush you to dust!
(I feel like I've nosily stumbled into something again.) A Yuan's abs are truly remarkable.
Despite his injuries, they can't hide A Yuan's handsomeness at all!
He never pursued the throne of this world. From beginning to end, it was only her. Everything he did was for the hope that Su Yan could return to his side. As long as Su Yan could be with him, he would disregard everything, even give up his own life.
What a pure love.
And Su Yan doesn't truly desire wealth and power either. She's only fulfilling her sister's last wish. She said those hurtful words to Yu Wen Yuan, but she didn't want it to affect him.
She loves him just as deeply as he loves her. After all, they have been through so much together. It's hard to forget. Although she had doubts about Yu Wen Yuan, she was only manipulated and misled by Yu Wen Ying Ren.
In the end, she still believed in Yu Wen Yuan. In Episode 12, Su Yan asked Yu Wen Yuan to lead the troops back, which was also a way to protect him... but it hurt Yu Wen Yuan's heart a bit.
The Emperor is a bit cunning.
When facing Su Yan, his son, and Yu Wen Yuan, he appears gentle, innocent, and pitiful. But when it comes to his subordinates, all his flaws are revealed. He even uses his own son without hesitation.
He's not a good father. I still don't understand why Su Yan's sister insisted on the five-year agreement between Su Yan and Yu Wen Ying Ren. She clearly knew that Su Yan and Yu Wen Yuan loved each other, but she still made Su Yan fulfill the five-year agreement, separating two people who liked each other for such a long time.
Personally, I think her sister was a bit too selfish.
This is the first time I've watched a mini-series, and it's really good. The lead actors' looks and acting skills are excellent, and even the supporting characters perform well.
This mini-series introduced me to even better actors. All the actors worked hard, and so did the director!
[Impressions after watching Episode 14: The reason why Yu Wen Yuan can surpass Yu Wen Ying Ren]
(1) Yu Wen Ying Ren intentionally keeps the scar on his neck, implying that it was caused by Nan Chuan Wang.
He pretends to be pitiful in front of Yan'er, seeking sympathy and shifting the blame onto the prince. He even casually says that he's fine, reassuring her not to worry.
While implying to Yan'er that Yu Wen Yuan hurt someone without reason, he also slanders Yu Wen Yuan, creating the false impression that he holds a grudge against Yan'er.
He has mastered the art of distorting the truth and sowing discord.
(2) For the past five years, he only uses Su Wan to provoke Su Yan. Despite the years of friendship they had, he is willing to dispose of him for merely speaking a few words.
He disregards their past relationship completely. He purposely delays seeking treatment for his injuries, waiting for Yan'er to help him apply medicine.
(3) He only knows how to tarnish Yu Wen Yuan's reputation, deliberately making Yan'er hear that Su Wan died from poisoning, sourced from the southern region, in an attempt to frame the Nan Chuan Army.
(4) He deliberately arranges for his subordinates to spread rumors about Yu Wen Yuan being cruel and treating life as insignificant in front of Su Yan. He also intentionally orchestrates a situation where Yu Wen Yuan would go to Xuyang Palace, making Su Yan misunderstand that Yu Wen Yuan wants to harm Cheng'er.
Therefore, one should never rely on others' words to understand a person. What you hear is only what others want you to hear.
Su Yan, do you doubt me?" Yu Wen Yuan feels shattered, believing that the feeling of not being trusted by someone he deeply loves must be terrible.
(5) "From now on, wherever the boy goes, the moon and stars follow. The boy will never get lost again.
Who told you all these things?" "Mother told me." "Didn't this prince get lost?
" Yu Wen Yuan admits that Yan'er is his moon!
The prince returned Cheng'er unharmed despite his own injuries, but no one paid attention to him.
He could only pretend not to care and say, "I won't disturb your family happiness.
You are no longer my moon after all." Don't make her cry.
She is! She is your moon! She is your moon alone!
Daily Question: When will Yu Wen Ying Ren pass away? (6) "You call him Ayuan, but you always address me as Your Majesty.
Well, what about it? Don't overstep your boundaries. You are just her brother-in-law, while Yu Wen Yuan is her lover. What right do you have to compare yourself with Yu Wen Yuan?
(7) "Yu Wen Yuan is not worthy of Yan'er's love." Neither are you! You don't have much time left as the emperor, yet you want Yu Wen Yuan to be trapped in public opinion.
You won't become the emperor for long. How ruthless.
(8) Yu Wen Ying Ren knows exactly how to manipulate someone. He knows that Su Yan doesn't love him and that Su Yan is Yu Wen Yuan's vulnerability, yet he refuses to let go.
He is too stubborn.
This is the biggest difference between him and Yu Wen Yuan. He knows that Su Yan doesn't love him but still insists, "I'm willing to maintain this pretense and continue like this day by day.
But love is not a cage. Yu Wen Yuan never thought of restraining Yan'er. He only cares for her and considers her well-being. Even when Yan'er chose duty over love five years ago, he didn't seize power or take her back by force.
He had the capability to do so, but he didn't because love is not about possession. It's about having the ability but choosing to step back because of the consideration for your feelings.
Just from this perspective, Yu Wen Yuan emerges as the clear winner.
The prince has an element of forced love towards Yan'er, but deep down, he genuinely cares for her and pities her. As Zhou Director said, "Although Yu Wen Yuan appears dominant and holds a high position, in reality, he is physically dominant but emotionally vulnerable." He is willing to do anything for Yan'er.
From the moment she sent him a distress signal, he broke through all obstacles to protect the imperial city. Part of it is for the sake of the nation, but another part is for Yan'er.
He wants to safeguard her and also wants to tease her a little, mocking himself for sincerely giving his heart to someone who had misunderstood him (of course, it was a past misunderstanding).
However, Yu Wen Ying Ren is different. He forces others for the sake of satisfying his ambitions, power, and emotions. From harming Su Wan to join forces with the Duke of Lu, he arrogantly claims, "She loves me.
It was her voluntary choice to die for me." He has no regard for others in his heart, only himself. In pursuit of his selfish desires, he harms those who love him and those he loves.
Actually, I've always been a fan of Cheng An's character. Although Yu Wen Yuan always speaks harshly in front of Cheng An, he has never harmed him. Even when the emperor planned to use Cheng An to get rid of him, Yu Wen Yuan still risked his life to save Cheng An.
He taught him swordsmanship and even arranged for someone to take him out of the imperial city when the enemy attacked. At first, I thought it was because of a liking for Yan Er that he treated Cheng An well. But as the story unfolded, I realized that his kindness towards Cheng An was not just because of Yan Er, but also due to his loyalty to the country and its righteousness.
Suddenly, I understood the meaning behind Yan Er's words during their meal together – he is still the young man filled with patriotism, loyalty to the righteous ruler, and the protector of the nation. I also understood why he initially held a knife to the emperor's throat but chose not to kill him.
I truly feel that the character of Yu Wen Yuan is portrayed even more vividly through his relationship with Cheng An.
Initially, I was attracted to this drama by the looks of the main actors and because I had previously followed Li Fei's series of short dramas. However, after watching this drama, I was actually quite shocked. The plot twists and character portrayals were quite fitting.
The actors really embodied their roles, and if you immerse yourself in it, you can feel like you're there, naturally getting involved. I really like this drama. Even Yaner, who initially didn't have a particularly strong attitude towards the emperor, had a bit of a reversal later on because of Yu Wen Yuan.
It can be said that she went from seeking the emperor to seeking Yu Wen Yuan, creating a series of events. Additionally, Yu Wen Yuan was always willing to do anything for Yaner, but he didn't express it openly in front of her, giving the impression of having a strong desire for control.
This drama leaves a deep impression and after watching an episode, it feels like the next episode sets up a foundation, leading us to contemplate and anticipate what the next storyline will be like. Of course, I'm also very excited to see what happens next.
In conclusion, this drama is absolutely worth watching. I hope it becomes a huge success!
Episodes 17 and the hidden scene in episode 8 left me breathless, my eyes were swollen from crying. "As long as the wound hasn't healed, it hasn't been long since you left." I can't even imagine how Yu Wen Yuan has been crumbling and healing over these five years.
(1) Compared to Yu Wen Yuan, Yu Wen Ying Ren only knows how to use Su Wan to provoke Su Yan. He's willing to dispose of someone who has been with him for over a decade just because the eunuch said a few words, disregarding their past relationship.
He kept his injury untreated for several days just to wait for Yan'er to help him, constantly twisting right and wrong to tarnish Yu Wen Yuan's reputation.
(3) He intentionally spread the rumor to Yan'er that Su Wan died of poisoning from the Southern Region, trying to frame the Southern Army.
(4) He deliberately arranged for his subordinates to spread rumors in front of Su Yan about Yu Wen Yuan being ruthless and treating life as insignificant, and intentionally set up a situation to make Su Yan misunderstand that Yu Wen Yuan was planning something against Cheng'er.
So, never rely on what you hear from others to understand a person. What you hear is only what others want you to hear.
Su Yan, do you suspect me?" The feeling of brokenness overwhelmed Yu Wen Yuan. He felt utterly miserable that the person he deeply loved didn't trust him.
(5) "From now on, wherever the boy goes, the moon and stars follow. The boy will never lose his way again.
Who told you all this?" "Mother told me." "Didn't I lose my way?" Yu Wen Yuan admitted that Yan'er is his moon!
The prince returned Cheng'er unharmed despite his own injuries, but no one paid attention to him. He could only pretend not to care and say, "I won't disturb your family happiness.
You're no longer my moon after all." Don't make her cry.
She is! She is your moon! She is your moon alone!
Question of the day: When will Yu Wen Ying Ren meet his end? (6) "You call him Ayuan, but you always call me Your Majesty." Well, of course. Don't overstep your bounds.
You're just her brother-in-law, while Yu Wen Yuan is her lover. What right do you have to compare yourself to Yu Wen Yuan?
(7) "Yu Wen Yuan doesn't deserve Yan'er's love." Neither do you! Your own life is not long, and you won't be emperor for much longer.
Yet, you still want to trap Yu Wen Yuan in public opinion. You won't become an emperor through such cruel methods.
(8) Yu Wen Ying Ren knows exactly how to manipulate someone. He knows that Su Yan doesn't love him and that Su Yan is Yu Wen Yuan's weakness, yet he refuses to let go.
He is too stubborn.
That's the biggest difference between him and Yu Wen Yuan. He knows that Su Yan doesn't love him but insists on saying, "I'm willing to maintain this pretense with you, living day by day like this.
But love is not a cage. Yu Wen Yuan never thought of restraining Yan'er. He only cares for her and considers her well-being. Even when Yan'er chose responsibility over love five years ago, he didn't seize power or try to bring her back to his side.
He had the ability to do so, but he didn't because love is not about forcibly possessing someone. It's about being able to do something but choosing to step back because of the other person's feelings. From this perspective alone, Yu Wen Yuan has won completely.
The historical drama "Granting Her a Handle" is currently airing and has successfully captured the attention of a large audience with its unique storytelling and captivating character designs.
It depicts how a woman, amidst a turbulent and uncertain era, makes choices closely tied to her emotions and future amidst the intertwining destinies of her family and the nation.
The main characters in the drama are based on real historical figures but are also fictionalized to some extent.
After watching nine episodes in a row, I found myself becoming more and more addicted to it. It truly is a stunning story. The backdrop of the story is set in a chaotic era, where the emperor is gravely ill, the crown prince is young, rebel forces rise, and the army is closing in on the city walls.
In this era full of contradictions and conflicts, what will be the fate of the female protagonist? In this specific historical context, the female lead faces a series of difficult decisions.
After her father's death, she becomes the youngest queen of the Southern Chuan Kingdom and is appointed as the king's daughter, responsible for protecting the kingdom.
The country she rules is on the brink of collapse, and her family is also in deep crisis.
At this critical moment, the King of Southern Chuan is preparing to launch a coup to seize power. In this crucial moment, she decides to seek help from the King of Southern Chuan and is willing to accept any conditions he proposes for the safety of her country and family.
Throughout this process, the female lead gradually realizes how insignificant she is as a woman and ultimately chooses to sacrifice herself.
This plot not only showcases the determination and intelligence of the female lead but also foreshadows the complexity and dramatic tension of the future storyline.
The introduction of the King of Southern Chuan brings a mysterious and profound atmosphere to the story. His gaze is deep and cold, as if hiding endless secrets.
He is not just a simple savior; he has his own goals and motivations.
He sent his troops for the rescue mission, not just to protect the woman and her family, but for a deeper purpose, to fulfill a certain vision deep within his heart.
He deeply understands that this war is not just a physical confrontation but also a spiritual dilemma.
The intricate emotional entanglements make this story even more captivating.
In the drama, the interactions and conversations between the female lead and the King of Southern Chuan are filled with tension and depth.
She hopes to gain the support and protection of the nation and her family, while also yearning for the understanding and assistance of men.
Although she seeks his help out of consideration for the safety of her country and family, deep down in her heart, she feels conflicted and torn about her decision.
On one hand, she desires the assistance of the King of Southern Chuan, but on the other hand, she remains wary of him. The King of Southern Chuan is astute in understanding the inner conflicts and struggles within her, but he chooses to remain silent and wait.
As the story unfolds, the audience gradually realizes that the King of Southern Chuan's true pursuit is not power or rule, but that woman.
She is his everything in life, and no matter how turbulent the world may be, he is willing to protect her and shield her from the wind and rain.
He is willing to make any sacrifice for her, including sacrificing his own life and rights. In the tapestry of fate, the love between the King of Southern Chuan and the woman becomes increasingly precious and moving.
After watching Episode 14, Su Yan tearfully approached Yu Wen Yuan. The moment Yu Wen Yuan turned around, his expression seemed shattered. He was cautious and afraid that Su Yan would leave him again, which is why he eagerly embraced him.
Su Yan chose to endure for the greater good, while Yu Wen Yuan risked everything for Su Yan.
Even though he knew about Yu Wen Ying Ren's scheme, he never considered turning against his country. Even when Chu Li scolded the emperor and urged Yu Wen Yuan to rise up, he only had the courage to say, "If the king wants me to die, I have no choice but to die." Compared to the emperor's selfish and short-sighted perspective, Yu Wen Yuan harbored great love.
He didn't want to involve the innocent people he loved. He understood that this was a dilemma he had to face. However, did he ever consider why the King of Nanchuan didn't directly enter the imperial palace to achieve both power and the throne?
In the end, Yu Wen Ying Ren's desperation pushed him to hurt the hearts of the Nanchuan army!
Of course, I was also shocked by Yu Wen Ying Ren's treatment of Ye Ruyu. He would kill anyone as long as they were of no use or value to him.
How ruthless and brutal! Compared to Yu Wen Yuan, I must say he has a narrow mind.
As for his love for Su Yan, how much of it is possessiveness and a desire for victory? He can't stand the King of Nanchuan having a strong military force, and he can't bear the thought of his woman being involved with another man.
It's a bit selfish... Although killing Ye Ruyu and saying those words might seem touching, it's still a kind of sick love...
Chu Li had a lot of scenes in this episode. From his lines, you can see that he is a loyal patriot and a brave man who is willing to risk his life for his country.
In this episode, he had an awakening. His patriotic heart was not in vain. He knew what kind of monarch he should be loyal to, not a narrow-minded and cunning person who framed and manipulated others. His tears also touched Yu Wen Yuan's heart, forcing him to face this inevitable conflict.
Actually, I really like General Chu Li. He used to be a third wheel all the time, haha, but it can't be helped...
Once the birds have flown, the good bow is hidden, the cunning rabbit dies, and the running dog is cooked." Yu Wen Yuan understood everything from beginning to end.
Otherwise, how could he become the king?
Perhaps there is endless sadness in his heart as well.
This drama I'm watching is absolutely fantastic. For me, it's a story of emotional entanglement, power struggles, and forced love. At the same time, I can also find some inspiration in the drama. Director Zhou once said in an official group that the male lead also has a spirit of never giving up.
I think the director did a great job in casting. Both main characters not only have good looks but also excellent acting skills. I've become a fan myself, gradually approaching the ending. I also understand that this drama is about the female lead making choices that affect her own emotions and future in the midst of family and national destiny.
The male lead's never-give-up attitude is admirable, and the more I watch, the more addicted I become. The introduction of the King of Nanchuan adds a touch of mystery to the whole story. He is not just a simple savior; he has his own purposes and motives.
At the same time, it can be seen that the King of Nanchuan is someone who is observant and insightful. In simple terms, he represents a form of forced love, or rather, a person who never gives up and is always waiting for someone's love.
He chooses silence and waiting in the face of her contradictions and struggles. This is not just a drama about forced love; I see many more mysterious elements. How can there be such a great director who can create such a drama? Besides the main storyline, the development of subplots and the complex relationships among characters in the chaotic world make it easier for the audience to develop emotions and resonance.
It has also deepened my understanding of love, family, and friendship. The set designs are also impressive, filled with a classical and elegant beauty. After finishing this drama, I feel that the whole series is smooth without any dragging moments.
The characters are well-developed and the relationships are intricate and gripping. Each episode doesn't waste the viewers' time. I hope to see more works like this in the future, and I also hope that the main characters can reach new heights.
Director Zhou, keep creating even better works.
[Before Episode 19] The nostalgia hit hard: "I'll marry myself" and "Hurry and save me" struck a chord. In the past, Yan Er was lively and bold, not as restrained and silent as we previously saw.
But we can imagine how much impact her sister's dying wish had on her over the past five years. Taking care of the emperor's only child in the deep palace, in this troubled era, a once innocent and carefree girl has grown into a woman with schemes and calculations.
We can't help but imagine what she must have gone through in these five years to become so restrained.
We don't know the extent of Yan Er's pain, but we can see from her transformation that she must have suffered a lot and shed many tears over the years.
Many people say Yan Er only knows how to cry, but in the face of Ah Yuan, she always has tears of guilt and sadness. How can we estimate the amount of pain and tears she has experienced in these five years?
Their love was sincere and passionate when they first met, and their separation was filled with regret and helplessness. The struggle and resistance when they reunited, the determination and deep affection when they died together.
They deeply loved each other, but there were too many responsibilities and obstacles that they couldn't avoid. We can't predict the future, but if we watch the nostalgia and then go back to the beginning, it truly becomes heart-wrenching.
Because of one mistake after another, every wrong step led to more mistakes, and the two of them could only pass each other by. And the deepest feeling Ah Yuan gave me was that he loved Yan Er passionately five years ago, and his love only grew stronger five years later.
He will always be the sincere and passionate young general, never wavering in his dedication to his country and his love for Yan Er. This really touches me, especially when I understand the meaning behind the name "Granting her a handle." In fact, they are each other's weaknesses and armor.
You can use one person to harm the other, but the other will never stand idly by.
I still believe that in parallel timelines, they will forever love passionately, fearlessly, and be eternally happy and safe.
I feel that the queen's sister is a scheming woman. She was plotting even before her death. Firstly, she manipulated the relationship between Yu Wen Yuan and Su Yan'er.
Secondly, she knew that the emperor wouldn't have no feelings for Su Yan, after all, it was ancient times, and he was the emperor. Who could tolerate a prince coveting their queen?
Thirdly, the queen's sister was afraid that the emperor would take a concubine and establish another woman as his empress, which would jeopardize her own son's chances of becoming the crown prince.
Five years ago, a royal decree led to her entry into the palace as a concubine. Five years later, a letter arrives, calling for her help in saving the palace.
When it comes to deep scheming, who can surpass Yu Wen Ying Ren?
It turns out that he had long been in love with Su Yan. However, considering her status as a commoner's daughter and knowing that she couldn't contribute to his grand ambitions, he chose to temporarily marry Su Wan instead.
But it was clear that Wan Er truly loved him.
While she was alive, her love for him was deep-rooted. She was willing to die for Yu Wen Ying Ren and even in death, she continued to scheme for his success in building a prosperous nation.
Su Wan knew that Yan Er was Ah Yuan's weakness, and with Yan Er by the emperor's side, Ah Yuan wouldn't dare to plot against him.
But what about Yu Wen Ying Ren?
He used everyone, even those closest to him. From beginning to end, he was a self-serving individual who didn't deserve anyone's love. He used Wan Er to win over Su Xiang's support, was consumed by power, and then sought to ally with Duke Lu Guo to marry Ye Ru Yu and ascend to the throne.
For the sake of his own interests, he drove Wan Er to her death... even as she plotted for him. He doesn't deserve anyone's love.
The current Yu Wen Ying Ren has completely turned villainous.
Su Yan never belonged to him, but he claims to love her. If that's true, then why would he use his beloved Yan Er to threaten Ah Yuan?
Finally, Yu Wen Ying Ren reveals to Su Yan the true purpose behind allowing Yu Wen Yuan to correspond with her.
He had set a trap for him and was just waiting for him to fall into it. He knew that Yu Wen Yuan still had feelings for Su Yan, and knowing that Yan Er was Ah Yuan's soft spot, he knew Ah Yuan would come.
So he let those things between the two happen without interference!
Because his goal was to bind Yu Wen Yuan through Su Yan and eventually bring down Ah Yuan.
In his eyes, both the kingdom and its beauties would be his. But in my opinion, he is nothing more than a scheming individual unworthy of being an emperor.
Yu Wen Ying Ren, as an emperor, only knows how to manipulate those closest to him. In my opinion, Ah Yuan is the one most suited to be the emperor. He wholeheartedly cares for his family, his country, and his people (in my personal opinion).
Episode 5 Highlights Review: Su Yan's "outburst" and the scene where Su Yan angrily slaps Ye Ruyu is not only Su Yan's "outburst," but also an explosion of actress Ming Jia Jia's talent...
It gave me the same expression of awe as the prince!
In the earlier episodes, Su Yan gave the impression of being gentle, elegant, intelligent, and restrained. But here, she shows her unique stubbornness and dominance, making her personality even more vibrant!
Her sister is her bottom line, and she will retaliate if someone steps on it. The way she deals with those who consider themselves superior is absolutely brilliant.
Personally, I think this scene is a comprehensive display of Su Yan's personality, and actress Ming Jia Jia perfectly interprets Su Yan in this scene.
Her trembling body language expresses her anger brilliantly... What's even more surprising is her excellent control of microexpressions.
When actors reach their maximum anger level, many of them tend to distort their facial expressions or use exaggerated facial expressions to convey it.
But Ming Jia Jia, on the other hand, uses a powerful gaze and a slight eyebrow raise, delivering a calm counterattack that is particularly impressive.
Her tone and expressions are just right, and her domineering presence even cuts through the onlookers like Yu Wen Yuan, which is quite satisfying!
It was a very satisfying watch~ And the bonus point goes to the way she turns around with those "indifferent steps" and the curtain flick, it's really cool.
She performed it incredibly well, and I really liked it~
PS: Personally, I think Ming Jia Jia is beautiful, gentle, and elegant in real life, and she perfectly fits the role of Su Yan with a 100% match.
She's great~
I have discovered some important details and would like to analyze them! 1. The soldiers in Nanchuan all believe that Yu Wen Yuan has been living a carefree and happy life in Nanchuan these past few years. However, a sentence uttered by Chu Li to Yan Er betrays him.
In reality, Yu Wen Yuan has not been doing well at all in these five years, to the point where he can't even sleep without drinking alcohol. He just pretends to be unbothered in front of others, but deep down, he cares a lot.
2. Several instances of "spoiling the mood" confirm that Yu Wen Yuan actually never forces Yan Er.
1) In the third episode, although Yu Wen Yuan initially suggests Yan Er to "undress," when Yan Er says, "Yu Wen Yuan, I beg you," he responds with "spoiling the mood" and changes the subject to having Yan Er play the piano instead.
2) In the fifth episode, when the Emperor wants to come inside the Xuyang Palace to see Yan Er, Yu Wen Yuan and Yan Er are inside the room. Yan Er pleads, "Don't stay here." Although Yu Wen Yuan mentions several times about wanting "compensation" from Yan Er, every time Yan Er truly decides to take the initiative, he interrupts with the phrase "spoiling the mood" because he knows that Yan Er is not willing at that moment.
"Spoiling the mood" is just an excuse he gives himself. In reality, he respects Su Yan and would never force her to do something she doesn't want to do.
(I really hope to get a double thumbs-up for being so attentive. Can I get one, please?
)
