In order to helpher mother, Xiu Li, recover from the trauma, Xiu Hua, the eldest daughter of Xiu Li, moved with her mother into her own student dormitory. However, the deeply wounded Xiu Li still brought significant trouble to Xiu Hua, who was about to graduate from her final year of college. This was especially evident in her romantic relationshipwith Zhou Kaize, as Xiu Hua suffered greatly due to her mother's excessivepressure. Facing her disheartened daughter, An Xin, and her increasingly fragile and evasive son-in-law, Qin Feng, the always overweight Xiu Fang made upher mind to inspire her daughter's confidence by achieving weight loss, something she had never succeeded in before. While Xiu Hua initially became somewhatparanoid in her relationshipwith her mother, Xiu Li, she eventually found her way back and resolved the issues between them. Xiu Fang ultimately succeeded in losing weight and accompanied An Xin in moving on from her marriage, standing upto face life once again.

Some people are asking why Qin Feng doesn't pursue a young and beautiful woman. Well, I would say that if he had the opportunity, he would certainly go after beautiful women too!
It's just that pursuing a beautiful woman requires more effort and thought compared to someone with an average appearance. Given Qin Feng's current unstable mental state, he needs an outlet for quick release, and Manager Chu happens to be readily available.
Once he recovers, he will definitely tidy himself up and become a lapdog for beautiful women.
He's like a weak-willed embroidered pillow. He's not malicious, but lacks determination. He no longer desires peace of mind, but his conscience is still intact.
He can't figure out what to do, being led by his parents and the third elder brother. The third elder brother, as his superior, actually understands him well.
He pretends to be indifferent and says "let's break up" casually, making him feel conflicted and indecisive.
Chen Ruo Hua's portrayal in "Surpassing" is truly remarkable. She brilliantly depicts the character of a neglected and invisible person at home, who encounters a mother with a strong preference for male children and a desire for control.
Before her younger brother's death, the mother disregarded Chen Ruo Hua's opinions. After her brother's passing, she thought the transferred attention was love, but it was actually the mother's stubborn and controlling nature.
There are many crying scenes in the drama, whether it's shedding tears calmly, breaking down in tears, or crying out of grievance. Each time is deeply moving.
What's great about this drama is that it always provokes profound thoughts on the ideological level. For Chen Ruo Hua, no matter how talented and brilliant she is, her first gratitude should go to her mother for giving her life and raising her.
But I can't help but wonder, is it really necessary to sacrifice herself to this extent for her mother? Doesn't she have a life of her own?
I don't know why there's a mother who would say her own daughter is ugly and stupid." There are several reasons for this. First, Xiu Li has her own way of interpreting her daughter. She has created an image of her daughter being ugly and stupid based on her subjective thoughts.
She then lifts this image up, like playing a game, enjoying the pleasure of exercising the power of a creator and reveling in the success of her virtual self within the game.
Second, Xiu Li belittles her daughter to the lowest extent so that her daughter belongs only to her.
Her daughter won't leave her, and she won't leave her daughter. Her whole remaining life can revolve tightly around her daughter.
Third, Xiu Li herself looks down on her daughter. Despite looking down on her, she can't let go and instead holds onto her tightly, resulting in mutual torment.
It turns out there are really men who like Manager Chu! I asked my husband, and he also thinks this third wheel is quite good. Our home's third wheel, although beautiful, is too dramatic and fragile...
Mature, slightly plump, with a leadership aura, pitiable in household matters, and not responsible. With so many buffs and bonuses, there is a portion of men who really like this type.
However, Qin Feng, who comes from a well-off family, has high self-expectations, and is quite handsome, seems a bit out of place and unreasonable. One can only say it's a case of passionate infidelity.
Yesterday I watched half an episode, and today I watched the first two episodes. Let me share my impressions. I have read the novel, and it's rare in this era of shallow writing that the novel requires a lot of imagination during the reading process.
It's very good. The screenwriter did a great job, visually portraying many things that could be explained in a single sentence in the novel.
Additionally, the storyline of Ruo Hua, which was relatively weak in the novel, has been strengthened in the drama (at least in the first two episodes).
This makes the character of Ruo Hua more well-rounded. The setting of Qin Feng's parents as cadre members, however, feels like a questionable change. It doesn't seem to align well with the subsequent events in the novel. Let's see how the drama unfolds.
If Huama Mama obsessively monitors and manipulates Ruohua's life, never considering whether Ruohua might feel suffocated by her excessive expectations and love! That's why Ruohua said she understood what her brother said before his death.
That's human nature. In the end, the only person we can truly rely on is ourselves!
I understand every character in the drama, except for Ruohua's mother, who is difficult to accept. I can understand Anxin's self-destructive behavior and the anger she directs towards her family after the car accident.
I can also understand her husband's inability to accept his wife's disability and his affair with another person who shares the same illness. I feel like they are not entirely at fault, but at the same time, it's hard to condemn anyone.
According to the original novel, he found an older woman. His wife, who used to be a beautiful dancer, had a leg amputated due to a car accident. He used to adore his wife and was willing to pamper her.
But after the accident, he started to despise her. He grew up as the only child in a family where everyone doted on him, and now he couldn't accept taking care of his disabled wife.
It just so happened that this older woman was willing to pamper him, support him, and provide him with the psychological comfort he needed. Doesn't it all fit together naturally?
To break through the barrier of social status, it requires Zhou Kai Ze's efforts. Whether it's responsibility or strategy, even if you argue with your mother, you won't marry anyone but her. In any case, Zhou Kai Ze doesn't care.
He doesn't even want to mention it. So how are we supposed to live if Hua marries into that family? We won't dare to say anything, there will be no commitments, we'll just take it step by step. Getting married in six months may seem rushed, but isn't it reasonable to at least discuss a general plan within that time frame?
Zhou, you can't even consider Hua's needs in advance. What qualifications does Hua have to enter your home?
I think the key point is not whether Zhou Kai Ze was the Sea King in the past, but rather the difference in their current attitudes. For example, Hua went to great lengths to stabilize her mother by fabricating the story about the bracelet, and she tried everything to make her mother accept Zhou.
On the other hand, did Zhou make any effort to make his parents accept Hua? He just said, "This time is different," and his mother responded with, "You always say that it's different every time." And then what?
Therefore, personally, I think it's understandable that Hua later felt insecure.
I was truly moved by "Anxin Mama." It shows what maternal love is all about. Look at her, living a rough life herself, yet being incredibly delicate and meticulous when it comes to Anxin's vulnerability.
Seeing her every little thought for Anxin touched me deeply. I hope every daughter has a mother like her, being loved with warmth.
To put it plainly, many people are only concerned about their own beauty and cannot empathize with children. What is the result of oppressing a child? It's Ruoxuan wanting to jump off the rooftop, it's Ruoxuan experiencing depression.
When a child doesn't have the ability to resist the control of adults over their life, they may turn to self-harm. If Ruoxuan and Ruohua are both gone, will Xiu Li be happy?
Does Chen Ruo Hua have some character issues? She seems a bit too casual! At the beginning, her roommate Xiaozhao liked Zhou, and regardless of whether they were actually dating or not, from Chen Ruo Hua's perspective, Xiaozhao and Zhou had an unusual relationship.
However, Chen Ruo Hua didn't keep her distance from Zhou and had frequent contact with him. Does this indicate a character issue?
And then there's the part where she lied to her mother, which left me confused.
At the beginning, her mother didn't object to her dating Zhou and even seemed satisfied with him. But Chen Ruo Hua repeatedly lied to her mother. Does this indicate a character issue?
I don't know why, but I find Qin Feng's family annoying for no apparent reason. There's always this sense of superiority and looking down on others. Qin Feng himself is not great either. How can he say, "We don't have children yet, how can we say that?
" and not even sign the consent form for life-saving treatment? I've encountered many people like this. When the doctor clearly states that without the signed form, the person will be gone, what are they thinking?
In real life, I've seen husbands who are initially bound by their moral obligations and take good care, but then they start visiting less frequently, and eventually, they throw the responsibility onto caregivers. You can only see them if you pay.
And eventually, they just dump the person in a nursing home and never visit again. Let them fend for themselves.
In my youth, I also had a lover with poor health. After going through a difficult psychological struggle, I decided to give up many things and stay by their side, hiding it from my family, and sharing both joys and sorrows together.
But it was really difficult, often tormenting me mentally. On one hand, it was painful to see them suffering from illness, and on the other hand, they were no longer the cheerful young person they once were.
They became anxious, fearful, and filled with darkness. They became sensitive and acted out. I desperately wanted to pull them out of that state but felt powerless.
Eventually, I sank into the whirlpool of life, filled with despair. I had nobody to confide in, and I cried frequently. Every day felt gray and colorless. This went on for nine years until we peacefully parted ways.
When we broke up, my heart was riddled with wounds, and I still felt guilty. The person I once loved the most, I couldn't keep my promise and they left. My ex later went on to travel the world, and I collected photos and postcards from different places for many years.
So, I truly understand Qin Feng. Love and responsibility can be incredibly heavy burdens.
The difference in approach between Xiuli and Xiufang when it comes to their daughter's love life is significant. Xiuli always seems to create trouble when it comes to her daughter's relationships. She becomes overly eager to gain benefits from Zhou Kaize, which actually pushes him away and causes her daughter to rebel and easily fall into Zhou Kaize's "trap." On the other hand, Xiufang is quite clever.
She is well aware that Qin Feng dislikes Anxin but instead of confronting Qin Feng directly, she goes to his workplace to praise him and present him with a plaque. She puts him on a moral high ground, making it difficult for their family to easily divorce and ensuring that she secures the maximum benefit for her daughter, even if she can't control a man's change of heart.
Love is between two individuals, but marriage involves two families. There might be some feelings between Ruohua and Zhou Kaize, but the difference in their family backgrounds is too significant. Ruohua doesn't have much to offer, and a girl like her can't afford to gamble.
She can't play the game of love with Zhou Kaize. On the other hand, Zhou Kaize has too much, and it doesn't necessarily mean that Ruohua is the only option for him. It's perfectly normal for him to not want to get married early.
While it's not necessary for couples to come from the same social class to have a happy marriage, having this condition can greatly reduce complications.
Ruohua's mother has been focusing on her children for over a decade. Now that her son has left, her daughter is the only focus of her life. If her daughter doesn't live with her either, she can't imagine what her future days will be like.
That's why she clings to her daughter like a vine, not allowing her to fly away. Eventually, her daughter will break free from the cocoon and fly away, and she will have to find a new focus for her life.
None of these four women are simple characters. Xiufang puts her son-in-law on a moral high ground, making him hesitant to bully Anxin. She is also observant and quickly notices Qin Feng's infidelity.
Anxin fully understands her mother's tactics and Qin Feng's intentions, and they appear to get along well on the surface. Ruohua genuinely likes Zhou Kaize but is also willing to use him and play hard to get.
Xiuli's unattractive behavior in front of Zhou Kaize is actually her way of wanting them to break up so she can stay close to her daughter. These four women are not to be underestimated!
