Plot Synopsis
The Chinese drama "Battle of Shang Gan Ling" centers on the heroic efforts of the 8th Company of the 134th Regiment, 45th Division of the 15th Army, with supporting characters from the 12th Army. It vividlyportrays the 43-day grueling battle where the ChinesePeople's Volunteer Army, relying on tunnel fortifications, engages in fierce combat to decisively thwart the United Nations forces' "Gold Rush Offensive," ultimately shifting the tide of the Korean War.
In 1952, after several battles, the Volunteer Army has gained the upper hand in ground operations against American forces. Seeking to bolster their negotiatingpower, the United Nations forces launch a final assault on Shang Gan Ling on October 14. The Volunteer soldiers fiercely resist the UN's advances, engaging in relentless struggles for territory.
