In Episode 3, set in May 1952, William Harrison becomes the lead negotiator for the "United Nations Forces." The U.S. firmly refuses to discuss the issue of prisoners of war outside of "voluntary repatriation," which plunges the negotiations into an unprecedented deadlock. By May 7, both sides cannot reach an agreement, and the talks come to a complete standstill. Episode 4: Qiu Shaoyun's Heroic Sacrifice Amidst Gunfire
In Episode 4, on October 8, 1952, Chinese representatives and UN forces engaged in negotiations at Panmunjom once again. Chinese representative Deng Hua pointed out that the prisoner of war lists submitted three times did not match, while the US side insisted that they adhered to the principle of voluntary repatriation and denied any abuse of prisoners, despite the Chinese having sufficient evidence. Episode 5: U.S. Forces Launch a Major Assault on Shangganling
In this episode, Tom, the company commander of the 31st Regiment of the United Nations forces, harbors deep contempt for the Asian soldiers, particularly berating the South Korean troops and accusing them of stealing lighters. At this moment, South Korean staff officer Lee Damin intervenes, having seen through the American military's facade, and ultimately defects to the 15th Army's 45th Division.
