Overall, individual character development outweighs the overall plot. The performances by the actors give each character their own uniqueness, but the screenwriters are still heavily criticized.
The designers can only depict characters superficially, and the doctors don't even have any medical scenes.
The original work by Zhang Xiaoxian was about the beauty of unrequited love and regret, with Mi Su as the enigmatic figure, Qin Yun Sheng as the one with persistent memories, and Su as the one whose love started and ended in secret. However, the adaptation here is a complete mess.
It would have been better to not use the shell of the remote setting and simply film a sweet little drama, especially since the sweet moments here are actually quite good.
So, the screenwriters still can't handle the complexities of human emotions and the unresolved sadness that unfolds in the story, so it's better not to make changes.
In the end, the main characters are truly well-portrayed, but they each excel in their own unique ways.
I feel a bit complicated watching this drama. It should be the honeymoon phase, but now they've already broken up. Zhang Yun Long seems very serious, probably had long-term plans. Just mentioning it brings a smile to his face. I wonder how heartbroken he must have been later.
The atmosphere between the two of them is really subtle. Zhong Chu Xi behaves very generously, treating Zhang Yun Long as a good friend and colleague. Although Zhang Yun Long smiles and acts friendly, you can always feel his awkwardness, to the point that he can't even look directly at Zhong Chu Xi.
Hmm, I have a question. The male lead doesn't seem to love his deceased ex very much, so why would he be building a house for her? And why did he start getting close to the female lead as soon as she appeared, even in the glasshouse that was the ex's favorite?
I really don't understand. Was it because of the regret over the ex that he started fixing the house, and then fell in love with the current partner? There was no transition at all. Right from the beginning, the male lead seemed very concerned about the female lead's feelings.
Throughout the process, there was no indication of sorrow for the ex, and the storyline has always focused on the male lead's attention towards the female lead, while she readily accepts his advances.
To be honest, when it comes to love and the throne, I would choose love. Building a kingdom over five years may be relatively easy for me, but maintaining a lifelong relationship is quite challenging. If I were to lose the kingdom I built in five years, I could work to reclaim it over time.
However, if the person I love leaves me, that would be a lifetime of regret. That's why, when faced with the choice between the throne and my loved one, I choose my loved one. I have no regrets. It's not that I am a foolish ruler, but rather, there are certain things that I can easily regain, but once a relationship is lost, it truly cannot be reclaimed.
