Plot Synopsis
"Wrong Carriage, Right Groom" is an adaptation of Xi Juan's novels "Marrying the Wrong Wedding Sedan with the Right Groom" and "Please Settle for Me." This drama also has an older version that was released in 2001.
It tells the story of Du Bing Yan, the daughter of a wealthy merchant family, and Nv ErLi Yu Hu, a martial artist, who accidentally board each other's wedding sedan on their wedding day, leading to a series of intertwined stories.
In the city of Yangzhou, two highly talked-about weddings takeplace. One involves Du Bing Yan, the daughter of the Du family in the north of the city, marrying into the wealthy Qi family in Linzhou. The other involves Nv ErLi Yu Hu, a martial artist from the east of the city, marrying the favored general of the imperial court.
Both families not only have their weddings on the same day but alsoprepare identical bridal attire and wedding sedans. However, behind the facade of wealth and honor, there are hidden secrets. The third son of the Qi family is terminally ill, and General Yuan Bu Qu is known for his violent deeds, having killed twoprevious wives and caused destruction. Both young ladies silently lament their unfortunate fate.
On the day of their weddings, the bridalprocessions leave the city simultaneously. Suddenly, a heavy rainstorm ensues, and both groups seek shelter in the same temple. The two brides, empathizing with each other's shared misfortune, form a sisterly bond.
News of an impending bandit attack spreads, and amidst the chaos, the brides accidentally board the wrong wedding sedans. The martial artist enters the wealthy household and, with the third young master, unravels the schemes and conspiracies through banter and confrontation. The lady from the wealthy family finds herself on the battlefield, engaging in a battle of wits and valor with the general, ultimately subjugating the fierce male.
Thus, through a series of unexpected events, two intricate and intertwined love stories unfold, leading to the fulfillment of two couples' enduring love and a life of happiness.

Apart from the better visual quality, this remake falls far behind the original in terms of casting, acting, styling, costumes, dialogue, and music. What's the point of this remake? Du Bing Yan is completely unsuitable for this role...
The dialogue constantly emphasizes the status of women, which feels awkward and out of place.
It's much better than I imagined. After watching the first episode, I felt it was really good. In ancient times, women couldn't even decide their own fate, but luckily Li Yu Hu and Du Bing Yan both eventually found their true love. The portrayal is very authentic.
I watched a segment, and indeed, it's not as good as the old version. Classics will always remain classics, and even in remakes, they can't surpass the original. The charisma and spirit of the characters in the classic version are missing in the new version.
The new version features fresh faces, and the storyline has been slightly altered from the original. That's why I still prefer the plot of the old version.
I watched the old version when I was a child, and I almost fell for those critiques from the bloggers. Today, I came here to judge for myself, and it's actually quite good, isn't it?
I heard it's a low-budget drama, so there's no need to compare it directly with the old version. The old version is undoubtedly better, but this new version is also very good.
I think it's pretty decent and enjoyable to watch while having a meal!
The ending is so ridiculous! Just to extend the number of episodes, they forcefully made Huang Hou pressure Yuan Bu Qu into becoming a husband. It's completely illogical! He's a highly accomplished general, and yet with just one word from Huang Hou, he gets thrown into prison.
It's absurd! Is the emperor who bestowed the marriage to the princess just a figurehead?
We need to break free from mental constraints. Who says that one must be virtuous and well-behaved to be considered a good daughter? Intentionally making mistakes and causing mischief is not something I desire, but could the heavy rain in Yangzhou be a hint of a destined fate?
Miss Li Yu Hu from the Li family has arrived. Come and witness the special connection that I have unintentionally brought about through a series of fortunate coincidences!
Even though Qi Tian Lei said so, Grandma still refuses to believe that Ke Shi Zhao is a bad person. After all, he is her own grandson, someone she has watched grow up and had high hopes for. Who could easily accept such a truth?
Sigh, oh, oh, oh. When will Ke Shi Zhao finally go offline?
When the wedding sedan chair departed, my eyes suddenly welled up with tears. At first, I thought it was because I felt sorry for the two women. But upon closer reflection, I realized it was my own reflection.
When I first watched "Marrying the Wrong Person, Marrying the Right Person," I was still a child. Now, I'm in my prime years, facing challenges in both my family and career, with an uncertain future ahead.
Let's raise a glass and continue to face it head-on.
The difference in status between the princess and Sha Ping Wei is actually quite significant, so it is reasonable for the empress to test him. As for Yuan Bu Qu, if he really wanted to agree to marry the princess, the empress would probably have him killed immediately. Having lost two wives and abandoning a third, such a person would not be suitable for the princess to marry.
It seems like they found the grave of their senior martial brother here, and it was only after that Huang Hou spared Yuan Bu Qu. The truth is, regardless of whether they found the grave of their senior martial brother or not, Huang Hou would not have killed Yuan Bu Qu or Du Bing Yan. The poisoned wine was also fake, and Huang Hou would have likely released them after a few days of confinement at home. However, Li Yu Hu and the others were unaware of this and coincidentally found their senior martial brother while trying to save Yuan Bu Qu.
Are you here to take a stroll again as a fan? According to the original plot, Da Chengzi should be more or less General Yuan, but I really want to see him play the role of the "sickly" Qi San Gongzi! Without Da Chengzi, what's the significance of the classic existence?
It is something that is revered and impossible to surpass. Everyone should just go their separate ways. As for certain fans who criticize me without even knowing if I've watched it, I haven't given a rating. The 3.8 rating has nothing to do with me.

We need to break free from the confines of traditional thinking. Who said that one must be virtuous and well-behaved to be considered a good daughter? Deliberately making mistakes and causing mischief is not something I desire, but could the torrential rain in Yangzhou be a sign of a fated destiny?
Here comes Miss Li Yu Hu from the Li family, come and witness the special connection I inadvertently forged.
The four main characters are great. The male lead is handsome, and the female lead is graceful and beautiful. I especially like the couple Li Yu Hu and Qi Tian Lei. They have excellent acting skills.
Bing Yan is elegant, and Yuan Bu Qu is a mighty general. It's a fantastic TV drama.
This kind of setup is too unrealistic. In a family that has been in business for several generations, even if there is a decline in male descendants, the elders would rather adopt or have a legitimate son inherit the family business, rather than allowing an outsider to take over.
The contracts of the servants are in the hands of the main family, so how is it possible for them to all obey the commands of an outsider?
General Yuan doesn't love the princess at all, and the princess doesn't love General Yuan either. What's the point of Empress Huang testing General Yuan? Even if General Yuan is a virtuous gentleman and a good man, he wouldn't become a sidekick to the princess.
If there's any testing to be done, it should be testing Sha Ping Wei, shouldn't it?
In ancient times, the way a woman walked was a measure of her behavior. Whether walking or sitting, it had to be proper and disciplined. Even in martial arts, there were rules to follow.
No one would walk with swaying steps and wobbles along the way. Even if pregnant and experiencing morning sickness, one would cover their mouth instead of directly vomiting.
Moreover, women in ancient times had low status, and they were expected to adhere to rules and etiquette in their movements and posture. Even if they were greatly loved, they still needed to be taught and guided.
Learning basic manners was essential, or else they would have difficulty finding a suitable marriage partner.
