Oh my goodness, why can't they just be straightforward? How else do you want them to confess? Actually, from the female lead's perspective, the male lead did respond. The character of the female lead is really well-written.
She dares to love and hate, and she can move on. She has liked him for four years, for heaven's sake. Does she have to cling to him desperately? It's not like the male lead can't live without her.
I'm speechless.
I watched from episode 1 to episode 19, and then I started fast-forwarding. I don't know why, but with some dramas, I tend to skip through the scenes of the main leads towards the end. I was really looking forward to the scenes between Director Lu and Ding Ding, but there were so few of them!
They only started appearing in the later two or three episodes.
The female lead likes the male lead too much, so she lacks security and has a strong sense of self-esteem. That's why she doesn't want the male lead to discover that she has liked him for so long and so deeply, as it would make her feel insignificant.
In a moment of panic when she's caught off guard, she tries to hide her true feelings with a less serious attitude. The female lead didn't fully portray this aspect, but the male lead did a great job. Although he rejected her, it was evident that he actually liked her, but there was a temporary misunderstanding and he hadn't realized his own feelings.
He also had concerns about being with the best friend of a girl he pursued before.
Secret Crush Chronicles": Watching Tang Xin secretly crushing for four years and even helping Tang pursue her best friend, I can totally relate! During middle school, when I was naive and clueless, there was a male classmate who I got along well with and had some feelings for.
But he ended up getting together with my roommate, and even though they only lasted a week, I felt so conflicted. I genuinely wished them happiness together, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Since then, and up until now, I haven't had the courage to confess to that male classmate.
I'm afraid that if I do, it will create an awkwardness between us even as friends...
To be honest, it's logical for the male lead not to agree. Your confession was so shallow, who would dare to accept it? Even if I really liked you, I wouldn't dare to agree. You only care about looks and money. What if I stop liking you in the future?
Why must the girl initiate and be obligated to accept? I've confessed to guys and been rejected too, but I still don't agree with the shallow way the female lead confessed. You've been silently in love for four years, and your confession was so hasty.
Must you be stubborn? What are you trying to prove?
I can truly relate to the female lead. I had a crush on a guy for four years, but I never confessed. I only gathered the courage to test the waters, and he rejected me. Later, two years later, he turned around and pursued me, but I didn't agree because he pursued me too easily.
He thought I would just be waiting for him.
