Upon rewatching, I noticed that after Lin Lu Xiao successfully persuaded Li Meng to come down, when the two firefighters reached her, the little girl smiled happily... But then... sigh...
If her parents had shown immediate concern for her, even if they later expressed their frustration, it wouldn't have pushed her to the brink. She would have regained hope for life, especially when two handsome firefighters gently guided her down. In that moment, she was genuinely happy, as if she had gained two caring big brothers.
Why can't firefighters go home every day after work? I felt a bit emotional when I saw the scene of them video chatting with the little girl. Later on, it was mentioned that they would have their schedules changed, ensuring they can go home once a month...
One has already pledged their allegiance to the nation, making it difficult to make another commitment. Looking at the incident at the steamed bun shop from a different perspective, it also highlights the need for fathers and husbands to pay more attention to their families.
Still immersed in the past few days and unable to break free. Sun Meng, a young girl, jumped off a building and took her own life. An innocent life was lost just like that. Whose fault is it, in the end?
What could have crushed the girl's inner spirit? What's even more unbelievable is that it is based on a real-life event.
Huang Jing Yu continues to portray the role of a bumbling yet courageous character, and it's hard to say whether his frequent appearance in films of this genre tarnishes the image of Chinese military and police personnel.
Zhang Jing Yi is just too unattractive... However, it's not easy to adapt the original novel into this format, but if they have already made such changes to the characters, why not create an original script?
It's obvious that the male lead sacrificed himself. The final scene, every shot was a hint. I'll just mention three points: 1. The male lead's chair: Seat 34 (wildfire, deceased); 2.
The male lead's state: sadness, heartache, reluctance. If he came to watch the female lead's performance, he shouldn't be in this state. And the male lead's perspective shows the female lead's solo dance in the falling snow, while others' perspective shows a group dance.
It's clearly a fantasy scene, where a comrade sacrificed in the wildfire came to watch the performance of their beloved one, separated from them by life and death. Hence, the state is one of sadness and reluctance; 3.
The final empty shot: Although the male lead clearly entered earlier, in the last shot, there is no one in seat 34. As for the online speculation about an open-ended ending or the male lead going on a mission, those reasons don't hold up.
If it were an open-ended ending or a mission, the shots wouldn't be framed this way.
The explanations online are probably meant to comfort the audience. Personally, I accept this bittersweet ending, considering it as a form of "sublimation." The male lead doesn't have a protagonist's halo.
He doesn't end up "living happily ever after" with the female lead like in other dramas. Instead, he's just like thousands of ordinary firefighters, ready to make sacrifices.
Finally, I pay tribute to the firefighters who sacrificed themselves in the Tianjin Port explosion, the wildfires, and all frontline battles. I also hope everyone pays attention to fire prevention and does our best to protect and support our firefighters who protect us.
I think "34" refers to the age of the male lead, sacrificing himself at the age of 34. And all the subsequent implied scenes are quite obvious. Also, in the scene where they are making dumplings, the four people here are the opposite of reality.
The three who sacrifice themselves are firefighters, while Yang Zhi, because he lost a leg, specifically wears shorts, exposing his leg.
I totally agree with you. Plus, there's the scene where Lin Lu Xiao calls for reinforcements, seeking help from many places down the mountain. The manpower is simply not enough.
The shot of the fire shield being raised is just like Nan Chu's father's scene, but there's a detail you didn't notice. When Nan Chu was performing, Yijiu and Shiquan were also in the audience, but at that time, Yijiu and Shiquan were both inside the fire scene with Lin Lu Xiao.
However, the subsequent scenes are quite confusing and contradictory.
A bit confused: Do firefighters never go home after work? In the drama, it seems like nobody goes home at night and they all stay in the dormitory, being on standby for 24 hours. Deputy Chief Yu has a family, but he only goes home a few times a year and has to wait for his scheduled leave, just like being in the military. Is it really like this? It's truly hard.
The waterfall rescue by Lin Lu Xiao was truly amazing! Lin Lu Xiao and Lao Yang were on vacation in the mountains when they encountered someone in need of help. Without hesitation, Lin Lu Xiao rushed over to rescue them, displaying a strong sense of responsibility.
Since the fire station is quite far from the mountainous area and would take some time to arrive, in order not to miss the optimal rescue time, Lin Lu Xiao went alone to save the person.
And it had to be Captain Lin, what's with the internal competition that Lou Ming Ye is causing? Lin Lu Xiao, please hurry back to the Special Operations Station!
Nan ChuLin and Lu Xiao's chat in the dance studio is really touching. He overcomes his fear of flames and SW because of bravery, responsibility, and his love for her. Time and time again, he rescues her from danger.
She persists in seeking the truth and upholding justice, unafraid of threats, suppression, unknown attacks, or the destruction of her own future. She defends Lin Lu Xiao's honor, the person she loves, the hero in her heart.
Two beautiful and outstanding individuals, their lives and emotions intertwine in such a profound way...
Yet, neither of them realizes how much they have done or how significant their actions are for each other.
In the minds of many Chinese-style parents, love is not like that.
What is their love like? It's when their children achieve high scores according to their demands, choose a major according to their wishes, find a job as they dictate, and marry someone they approve of. When the children become what they had hoped for, they believe that this is loving their child. They see it as their selfless dedication and efforts that have led to their child's present "achievements."
If you want to write about firefighters, you can't just focus on their firefighting duties. You have to write about the nights when their hearts are tormented because they can't be with their loved ones who are sick. Write about the moments when their children call out for their fathers, but all they can do is respond with a helpless face through the screen. Write about watching their parents grow old, but only finding solace in memories. Write about the reminders from their family to stay safe before every mission. You have to write about the overwhelming joy during their rare vacations and the bittersweet farewells when they return to duty.
In the fire station, there are many people who want to donate and help the little girl with leukemia. However, there are also those who say that firefighters receive fixed salaries and that they can't possibly help everyone in need every day. That's why Lin Lu Xiao made it one of her priorities to promote fire safety among the public. This passage not only addresses the dilemma of whether to donate or not but also provides a subsequent solution. I found it quite relatable when reading it.
It's incredibly captivating. The relationships, whether it's camaraderie, family, or romance, are all portrayed beautifully. It's an ensemble drama where everyone has their own storyline, not just centered around the main couple.
It also showcases real-life firefighting cases, which feels authentic and allows viewers to truly appreciate the hardships that firefighters face in their ordinary lives. It also sheds light on the challenges faced by firefighters' families, the struggle to balance work and family, and the sacrifices they make for the greater good.
It should definitely be broadcasted on television to reach a wider audience.
The spirit of the fire brigade shown by the creators really struck a chord with me! The director went to great lengths to recreate the fire scene in a one-to-one fashion for authenticity.
The Pingping Road Blue Team also immersed themselves in the lives of firefighters, undergoing basic fire training. Every shot is a tribute to the firefighters who walk against the light!
This is the ideal firefighter, but don't expect it in reality. A couple of years ago, there was a fire in the neighboring community. A girl was trapped inside her house, and it took nearly an hour for the firefighters to enter the house.
Once inside, it only took about 5 minutes for them to bring the girl out, but it was already too late. So in a real fire situation, try your best to escape and save yourself. Don't count on firefighters to magically appear out of thin air.
Episode 10, the scene where Sun Meng, a girl with depression, jumps off the building, really struck a chord with me. I used to be like "Sun Meng," and I believe many others have experienced being "Sun Meng" as well.
Our parents always place themselves in a position of authority, while they put us, their children, in a lower position. The relationship is unequal, and there is no room for equal dialogue.
Once we disobey their commands, they get angry, domineering, controlling, fearing that we will break free from their control. Faced with such parents, we must resist with all our might, express "our" opinions and views, clearly point out their mistakes, again and again, even if they scold us for being rebellious and defiant.
Because not resisting means compromising, constantly compromising, and that can lead to trouble.
One more thing I want to say is that even though nobody likes us, and everyone seems to be against us, we must not give up because there are still many things in this world worth cherishing, such as the beautiful landscapes, the changing seasons, and three meals a day.
Life is only twenty thousand days, so let's not lose ourselves for things or people who aren't worth it. Don't give up! I hope that each one of us can find our own light and keep moving forward.
Regardless of how long it takes to extinguish the fire, regardless of whether it's in the early morning or late at night, once they start fighting the fire, they endure hunger and fatigue, devoting themselves wholeheartedly to firefighting and disaster relief.
Because they know that the fate of every inch of the motherland and countless lives rests in their hands! Extinguish the fire! Aid in disaster relief! It is their duty to protect the country and its people!
Salute to all firefighters, like Lin Lu Xiao, who fight bravely!
This drama is really good because it's not just about love stories or preachy educational content. It tells the story of a group of flesh-and-blood characters who may seem ordinary but are actually extraordinary heroes. They are afraid of death, pain, and fire, and they also experience anguish, helplessness, and tears in their lives.
But when they are truly needed, they never take a step back! That's what true heroes are made of!
At 23 years old, Lou Ming Ye is still a tsundere, a cute one at that. He used to have a good relationship with Lin Lu Xiao, always together and having a great time. But after that earthquake, they developed different rescue philosophies.
Deep down, Lou Ming Ye feels guilty and remorseful for not being able to save that child. However, he's introverted and keeps his emotions hidden, which is why he ended up punching Lin Lu Xiao.
His subsequent anger is directed at Lin Lu Xiao's lack of self-preservation instincts. He cares about the lives of the people and his comrades. How could he just stand by and watch his comrades die in front of him?
That's why he applied to study abroad. He realized that scientific and rational rescue methods can reduce accidents. Only by ensuring his own safety can he save more people.
His decision to return as the station chief at Peace Station is actually to lead the team in place of Lin Lu Xiao. He does all this not out of a desire for victory, but genuinely for everyone's well-being.
If his scientific rescue methods are combined with Lin Lu Xiao's team spirit, they will be truly unstoppable.
There were comments saying, "But then he let Vice Yu sacrifice himself." Later on, everyone was saddened by Vice Yu's sacrifice, but was it Lou Ming Ye's fault?
The plot hasn't developed enough, and we don't know the full story yet, so let's not blame him. He wouldn't want anyone to sacrifice themselves. If possible, he would rather be the one who sacrifices...
Perhaps because I have a liking for unconventional characters, I also like Lou Ming Ye's personality. A team needs someone like him, straightforward and outspoken. His presence will only push everyone to improve.
And once the adjustment period is over, he and Lin Lu Xiao will definitely become close and harmonious good brothers again!
After watching all 40 episodes, I gave it a rating of only 5 out of 10. Initially, this drama was rated 8.5 or higher in my mind. However, the last few episodes really left a bitter taste.
Although I understand the significance of Lao Yu's sacrifice, it was truly heartbreaking. But immediately after, the sudden sacrifice of Da Gang felt a bit excessive.
Da Gang had already started a new life, and the drama had already portrayed this aspect well. But to forcefully arrange his sacrifice, emphasizing his unwavering sense of responsibility as a firefighter, felt like an overly forced attempt at emotional manipulation.
While I believe such situations exist in reality, within the context of the drama and especially in the last few episodes, the combination of Lao Yu's sacrifice followed by Da Gang's sacrifice felt like an excessive attempt at emotional manipulation.
It left me feeling a bit annoyed and unnecessary. As a result, my overall impression dropped significantly. And then there's the ending, which seems to be an open-ended conclusion.
From the empty seat, the number 34, the Nan Chu stage where applause was given and turned back, with no one occupying the position marked 34, and the expressions of the team members at the He Ping Road station and Nan Chu—taking all these details into consideration, I interpreted it as Lin Lu Xiao's sacrifice.
All these factors combined made me feel that the last few episodes were forcefully trying to manipulate emotions, so I couldn't give it a high rating. Lastly, I have to mention, is the female lead a fire starter?
Fires break out wherever she goes? Is she on par with Conan? It's too much, really. It's just too coincidental.
Actually, it's not about work-life balance. Everyone is overlooking one crucial issue. Initially, when Mi Lan and Yu Qi Lei got together, Yu was a structural engineer, and their work hours, lifestyle, and financial conditions were compatible.
Switching from a structural engineer to a firefighter is a completely different career choice and situation. Yu found fulfillment in helping others, but that expectation was different from what Mi Lan initially anticipated when entering the marriage (typically, even if a woman can understand her partner's job instability or the need to switch jobs, it's difficult to calmly and smoothly accept a transition from a well-paying, family-oriented job to a military-like profession).
Mi Lan also struggled in various ways (including trying to help Yu find a new job, urging him to transfer positions, and handling childcare and raising children alone), making many sacrifices and compromises.
However, she realized that Yu's presence in the family no longer resembled the marriage and life she desired (it affected her own life and the child's). Even when prioritizing family and emotions, Yu consistently chose a work-oriented approach, which made Mi Lan lose what she had expected from her marital life.
Therefore, divorce is simply an inevitable outcome when both parties refuse to change their values and lifestyle patterns. Love, understanding, or work-life balance become less relevant in this situation.
