In this episode, Shen Xing is thrown into the water with a heavy stone tied to his feet, leaving his fate uncertain. The victim, Mao Ba, was a trusted confidant of Cai Shu for many years. Episode 3: # Opening the Stone
In Episode 3, deep within the mining mountains, the hardworking miners at Haishan mine are wrapping up their day. As they prepare to leave, they must go through strict security checks. One little guy tries to sneak out a ruby hidden in his stomach, hoping to trade it for some pocket money, but the sharp-eyed supervisor catches him red-handed. Another clever kid, sensing trouble, quickly hides in a construction lift, only to find himself locked inside. Meanwhile, a doctor carefully extracts a precious pigeon blood ruby from the belly of another caught child; this gem is incredibly valuable, with a color reminiscent of pigeon blood. >>read more
Episode 4: # Puppet Show
In this episode, an angry Lao Sun confronts Wang An Quan, demanding compensation. Wang explains that he was following orders from his boss and offers to take Lao Sun to meet him. Upon encountering a burly, tattooed man, Lao Sun is immediately frightened and turns to leave.Meanwhile, Shen Xing finds Wu Hai Shan, who drives him to the Haishan mining site. There, tensions flare between Duan Lao Si and Gan Ting, leading to a scuffle that topples a box used for puppet shows, shattering the clown puppet inside. The performers are devastated by the loss. Episode 5: # Blood Red
In Episode 5, You Deng explains to Dan Tuo what happened the day Mao Ba died, mentioning that Ang Tun lied, claiming the goods were faulty and that he needed to retrieve them. Dan Tuo insists that Mao Ba’s situation is in the past and that he no longer cares. You Deng then brings up Shen Xing, recalling that Mao Ba also used to work in the grinding mines. While it seems coincidental, Dan Tuo argues that Shen Xing’s experience in the mines is entirely different from Mao Ba’s. >>read more
Episode 6: # Cattle
In Episode 6, the most active cattle trading routes in the central region have seen a significant decline in live cattle sales. Cai Shu mentions that they have switched to frozen meat, which saves both costs and feed expenses. Ai Suo is unfamiliar with frozen meat and needs to think it over. Episode 7: # Slaughter
In Episode 7, Shen Xing and Dan Tuo, hiding behind a car, are overheard whispering. Shen Xing cleverly claims he can drive construction vehicles and proceeds to fix one in front of their adversaries. Episode 8: # The Tapir
In Episode 8, the only son, Arden, cannot show up in the bustling market, so Tisa has to admit that she isn’t the mastermind behind it all and can’t make decisions. Cai Shu immediately takes Tisa to Maniu Town, where Tisa reveals the truth in front of Ai Suo. Ma La Nian seems to realize something and turns to make a phone call. Ai Suo, now aware of the truth, becomes furious and pulls a gun, but no one gets hurt. >>read more
Episode 9: The Battle
In Episode 9, the character Xigou runs away, leaving Shen Xing alone to awkwardly lie about the situation, claiming that Momo is asleep. When Shen Xing meets Mu Yaozi, he mistakenly believes he is the legendary figure "Guo Jianglong." Later, he discovers that the real Guo Jianglong is a man who has been tied up and beaten nearly to death. Episode 10: # To Stay or Leave
In Episode 10, Old Li is reluctant but feels he must retrieve the snake. Just as he’s about to drop it onto Shen Xing's bed, he realizes she's still awake, and his resolve weakens. After a moment of thought, he wraps the snake in a blanket. Turning around, he sees a photo of his wife and daughter on the pillow, and the emotional conflict makes it hard for him to go through with it. >>read more
Episode 11: # Endless Connections
In Episode 11, Shen Jian Dong is eager to learn what has happened to Shen Xing during his absence. Guo Li Min fills him in on the situation, suggesting that Shen Jian Dong might be right—Shen Xing has indeed changed.When Shen Jian Dong sees Uncle Li's body hanging from a tree outside the work shed, he feels like crying but can't. At that moment, he realizes just how much he has changed. Setting Shen Jian Dong aside, Guo Li Min believes that staying in Sanbianpo is a good choice for Shen Xing, especially since not everyone can follow Cai Shu. >>read more
Episode 12: # Golden Emerald Lounge
In this episode, Liu Jin Cui is connected to Ah Ming's family. She secures an order from Lai Pei but can't handle it alone, so she reaches out to Cai Shu and Ah Ming for a compromise, asking Ah Ming to give up the territory south of Highway 4. In Episode 13, Shen Xing is increasingly comfortable working alongside Cai Shu, running errands and feeling fulfilled in his busy routine. In Episode 14, Shen Xing talked to Cai Shu about the aggressive collection tactics of Xia Wenjing. Episode 15: # Changing Fate
In Episode 15, when Shen Xing and Yan Bai Mei enter the room, they are stunned by the scene before them. The bathroom is in chaos, water is splashing everywhere, and Guo Li Min is injured and unconscious on the floor. Lei Ming is in even worse shape. In Episode 17, Guo Li Min makes an irreparable mistake, ending a life in the cold water prison with his own hands. His hands are stained with blood that can never be washed away, trapping him in an inescapable predicament. Episode 18: # Chocolate and Chalk Dust
In the 18th episode, Justin, an education volunteer from afar, crosses paths with Shen Xing at Sanbianpo, seemingly a twist of fate. That night, as flames rise high, Justin bravely swims through the fire to help, leaving a lasting impression on Shen Xing. The next morning, Shen Xing sees him off, and they share simple sandwiches in a makeshift tent. Episode 19: # Not Only
In Episode 19, Shen Xing is contemplating how to fulfill his friend Justin's undelivered love letter to a girl named Anita. He heads to the area of Daquling but fails to find Anita. In this episode, Su Su confides in Shen Xing that Zhao Zi Ying is actually her half-sister from the same mother but a different father. The backstory reveals that Su Su had a boyfriend who became addicted to drugs, causing chaos in her home. Ending 21: # Escape from Sanbianpo
In this episode, Sanbianpo has gone through three major upheavals, each followed by sporadic conflicts between local armed groups. To mark their territories, they often lay landmines along the borders without ever clearing them, turning these areas into desolate no-go zones.
