The values portrayed in this drama are fine. From a broader perspective, those who engage in illegal activities in society will not have good outcomes. From a narrower perspective, even if one is involved in such activities, they should still uphold moral principles.
Society is not as ideal as it seems; where there is light, there is also darkness. However, the country has created a harmonious environment for us at present, and we should cherish our current lives.
Life is a long journey, and once we deviate and make mistakes, it becomes difficult to turn back. Biaozi could have returned to the right path, and Kun Ge's final words were spot on.
Only by following the path under the sunlight can we go far. This drama serves as a wake-up call for those who have strayed off the right path, urging them to find their way back.
At first, I binge-watched over ten episodes in a day, and this drama was absolutely amazing. It was so satisfying to watch. But then, watching only one episode per day, to be honest, this type of drama is best enjoyed when watched in one go.
Watching it episode by episode really affects the viewing experience and, consequently, the overall quality of the drama in the viewers' hearts.
Throughout the entire drama, I feel that Hongmei had countless opportunities to stop Biaozi, but she never did. When they were at the hospital, she watched Biaozi go to find Diao Yu. Even when she knew that his good friend Wang Lei had died and he was seeking revenge, she remained silent and chose to go to the United States.
I truly feel that Hongmei doesn't love him.
This series is the first in many years that I watched from beginning to end without skipping a single scene, not wanting to miss any details. Each character in the drama has a distinct personality and shining moments, but it's a pity that there are no legal boundaries.
The theme music and the songs "Friends" are really fitting. I watched the final episode with tears in my eyes, and my heart couldn't calm down for a long time.
Great drama! High production value! The action scenes are not at all perfunctory! To be honest, I didn't have high expectations at first because I'm quite picky when it comes to watching dramas. But as I continued watching, it suddenly grabbed my attention and got me hooked!
The drama feels very authentic, and they portray the gangsters in the underworld really well! The fight scenes are truly impressive, with incredibly realistic settings. You can tell that a lot of effort was put into it, and the acting is truly remarkable!
A masterpiece! High production value, the action scenes are not at all half-hearted! Honestly, I didn't have high expectations at first because I'm quite picky when it comes to TV dramas. But as I started watching this drama, it quickly grabbed my attention and got me hooked.
The drama feels incredibly authentic, and they portray the underworld characters so well! The fight scenes are absolutely amazing, with incredibly realistic visuals. You can tell that a lot of effort was put into it!
Leizi has suffered a lot. From the beginning, he has always been saving people. The first person they saved together was Zhong Yunan, then Hua Zi, and later Zhang Peng. Again and again, now he is saving the woman he loves.
Is he wrong? Who has truly saved him? When he needed help, Hua Zi, where were you? Have you ever helped him? You have always been doubting Leizi and Biaozi, which makes me feel like you've never regarded them as brothers.
It's natural for the police to catch drug traffickers, but for some reason, it feels like Hua Zi doesn't consider them as brothers.
Hua Zi is just incapable. When he was a gangster, he didn't help his brothers and only indulged in pleasure. He even caused his brothers' deaths. When he became a police officer, he couldn't find any leads and only thought about using his brothers as informants and stepping stones to solve cases.
When Diao Yu and Biao Zi got into trouble, he immediately turned against Biao Zi. He knew about the drug trade on the streets but didn't investigate. After Diao Zhe died, he acted as if it didn't matter. Diao Zhe had been involved in smuggling long before, but once Biao Zi got involved, Hua Zi clung onto him like a bloodthirsty shark smelling blood, unwilling to let go.
When his own sister had a car accident and miscarried, instead of catching the culprit, he went on a rampage, relentlessly blaming Biao Zi. Hua Zi, oh Hua Zi, what kind of person are you? You're not good as a brother, not good as a family member, not good as a police officer.
What can you actually do?
This drama is full of high-energy action scenes, and the actors really give it their all! There are so many veteran actors in the cast! Not all of the actors are introduced in the credits, and there are many skilled antagonists in the drama.
Just by watching the fight scenes, you can tell how much effort and skill went into them. Young idols and popular stars wouldn't be able to pull off this kind of intense and realistic action.
The director is definitely eccentric. They want to portray the authenticity of that era, talk about the law, and give the protagonist of the TV drama a halo. Those few truant kids got into several fights and didn't get caught.
Even though they suffered serious injuries, they were completely fine the next day. It's amazing how they can recover from a leg gunshot wound and be back on their feet in just two days. Isn't that miraculous?
The Five Brothers" Xu Wei Biao: Righteousness, loyalty, brashness, and a willingness to sacrifice for his brothers, he would do anything for them, right or wrong.
Wang Lei: A stone-faced warrior, unfeeling and steadfast, with a strong sense of righteousness and loyalty, willing to sacrifice for his brothers.
Lin Zhi Hua: A shy and righteous youth, filled with a sense of justice and kindness, always trying to advise his brothers and prevent them from going astray.
Zhong Yu Nan: Innocent, carefree, righteous, loyal, willing to sacrifice for his brothers.
Zhang Peng: Involved in gambling, drugs, and deceit, a master of lies, a petty thief, a coward that his brothers can't rely on, but still holds a sense of brotherhood and loyalty.
The Die-Hard Fan Brothers" Di Chu Liu: Loyal, righteous, filled with brotherly affection, willing to sacrifice for his brothers.
Huang Si Er: Loyal, righteous, filled with brotherly affection, willing to sacrifice for his brothers. The whole drama is really great!
After watching 15 episodes, the intelligence of the entire police force is nonexistent. Firstly, an entire family of more than ten people was slaughtered, and they were completely clueless about it.
Secondly, when they found the sister at the Erzhong's house, they brought her back for questioning without knowing that her entire family was gone. They didn't think to protect or track the sister.
Lastly, in the final showdown with He Liqing, they captured everyone. Even if others couldn't extract information or get Wang Lei to confess, shouldn't they have cleaned up the battlefield?
He Qingqing is the kind of person who can only be dealt with by someone even more ruthless than him. If you're in the game, you have to play it tough. There's no point in living an honest life. If you're going to be in this world, you have to be ruthless, killing someone without hesitation and wiping out their entire family.
If you're not tough, it'll be your end. Dealing with people in the underworld is just like playing house. If you don't eliminate someone like him, he'll only become more audacious. You have to use whatever method necessary to deal with different kinds of people.
That's why they say the longer you're involved in this, the more your courage diminishes.
Lei Zi repeatedly gets involved in dangerous situations for the sake of his brothers. However, when faced with the situation where An Feiya falls ill and lacks the money for treatment, he would rather kill someone and raise money alone, and he is unwilling to let his brothers accompany him in taking risks or even sell drugs.
He never says anything, but he clearly knows everything.
Hua Zi is quite something. We need more people like him, righteous and just. His brothers died trying to save him, and those who became fugitives, but he still thinks he's always right and everyone else is wrong. He sees himself as a paragon of justice.
When he captured his brothers, he didn't even bother to ask why. I hope he doesn't end up being the only good person left in the end! Unbelievable.
No one should claim who's right or wrong. Huazi no longer sees eye to eye with Biaozhi and the others. Different paths, no collaboration. Yes, Huazi became a police officer, but when you were on the right path, you didn't lend them a hand either.
However, Biaozhi has always been there, pulling those two along, moving forward. Moreover, even now, if they can avoid violence, they will. Why look down on Biaozhi, making judgments and snide remarks? It's absurd! Even if you're a saint, you can't expect everyone else to be one too.
Back in school, we were a group of brothers. Some came from well-off families, some excelled academically, some had a knack for taking advantage of small benefits, some were skilled fighters, and there were those who may not have stood out in any particular way but were fiercely loyal to their friends.
Although some of us have drifted apart now, sometimes I can't help but reminisce about those youthful years. People with different personalities gathered in the dormitory, sharing the same bowl of instant noodles, discussing their unique dreams, and nurturing the purest form of friendship.
Many people may not agree with the part where revenge is sought with a gun. Those who have actually experienced it know that when it comes to actually going after someone for the first time, their legs can't move and they feel genuine fear.
It's a very real reaction.
To be honest, I didn't quite understand it. A single person can't dominate a whole martial arts organization. It's not practical to rely solely on being ruthless in any era. Having personal combat skills can be an advantage, but there are plenty of people like that in society.
Money can attract followers. And then there's the scene where he threatens all the prominent figures in the martial arts world by himself. Just by saying "I want half of Chengnan," what makes him think he can demand that?
Is it just because of his words or his fighting skills? I can only say it's impressive! It's a bit theatrical and not very realistic.
In 1985, the monthly salary in Guangdong was only two to three hundred yuan. In the northeast, the income might be only eighty to a hundred yuan per month for an ordinary laborer.
Ten thousand yuan was a huge sum of money, equivalent to a hundred months' income. It's terrifying how easily the rich second generation can casually throw away ten thousand yuan.
I don't think even the income of the underworld is that high, unless it's those involved in activities like illegal gambling and drugs. And when Zhong Er casually tossed away two hundred thousand yuan, it was just too exaggerated.
