I thought Hu Gong would quit the competition because of this. But when Zhao Xuelin left, she mentioned that it was the two of them competing, so maybe Hu Gong had a change of heart. Perhaps she will continue to struggle and be undecided for a while longer, but she might withdraw in the next episode.
Of course, her own studio is also facing difficulties, so it's understandable that she doesn't want to give up.
I actually quite like the trio of Lao Wu, Ding Yi, and Wang Auntie. Maybe it's because of their advanced age, but every time they appear, they really capture my attention. Despite being retired, one runs a small business at home and handles community affairs, another finally gets to live life on her own terms, and Lao Wu is even able to redefine his life's trajectory.
Please note that "Lao Wu," "Ding Yi," and "Wang Auntie" are transliterations of the Chinese names and may not have direct English equivalents.
Since Zhao Xue calls Hu Gong "Teacher Hu," Hu Gong has really been neglectful in guiding the younger generation. From a god's eye view, I always feel that Hu Gong's impression on me in certain matters is not quite positive.
If she is supposed to be a righteous character, then what is the meaning of this character? I can't figure it out.
From the first episode onwards, the female lead hasn't had anything go smoothly for her. As the saying goes, when someone is unlucky, even drinking cold water can cause problems.
The character development in this drama portrays all the unlucky things happening to them in a vivid and intense way! Just when something good happens, it's followed by something bad.
It's a series of unfortunate events, and just when it seemed like things were about to settle down, the father falls ill and needs to be rescued. Oh my...
Drama Synopsis: The essence of the whole drama lies in having the courage to start anew. Old Wu, despite his age, divorces and learns design. Jiang Tian, facing work difficulties, resigns and starts his own business.
Zhou Ye Wen, with a struggling business, renovates and reopens. Lin Xiao Xiao, after being a mommy's girl for 30 years, rents a house and begins a new life. While viewers may perceive the plot as ordinary and relaxed, it actually reflects the need for individuals to undergo psychological and spiritual challenges in their specific lives in order to make genuine decisions.
That's how life is—there are no smooth sailing journeys. However, we must always have the courage to start anew, no matter when.
Many people say that this drama feels frustrating to watch, but in my personal opinion, it is the closest portrayal of real life. Life and work are never smooth sailing! Stumbling and facing obstacles are part of the journey. The ending of this drama represents a transition into a more stable phase.
Another point is that I feel Wu is the true protagonist, showcasing how society can still support older and middle-aged individuals in achieving their dreams!
This drama is such a mess. Even the assistant is not simple, always causing trouble. Although the female lead can stand on her own, she still relies on Lao Wu. But every time there's trouble, it's because of Lao Wu. I'm really frustrated watching this drama.
The characters in it are not quite normal. If it weren't for Xiaobai, I wouldn't have bothered to follow. I regretted watching it. It just makes people angry. Xiaobai, please don't take on such lousy scripts in the future. I really can't continue watching it.
The owner of the first construction team found it themselves, and the materials were also purchased by the owner. If there are problems with the house, is it the fault of the design team? Designing is just about providing a set of drawings and assisting in supervision, which is already quite sufficient.
Moreover, the main business didn't even listen to the design team. They insisted on opening windows when they were not allowed to, and now it's considered a design issue when problems arise? How was it filmed?
I feel that Wu Jing Fang isn't really passionate about her job as a designer. She doesn't enjoy delving into the business and feels pressured by the assignments given by Jiang Tian instead of genuinely seeking them out. She enjoys helping others solve problems and seeks validation from others.
She relies on Jiang Tian, hoping to achieve immediate success and prove her own abilities.
People say that the ending is not good, but why does an ending have to fulfill everyone's wishes to be considered good? That's just how life is. Just because you work hard, does it guarantee that you will always get what you want?
Do all your desires come true? Not necessarily. Disappointment is a part of life, and the things you pursue may not always be attained. Have you perhaps watched too many feel-good dramas? Take a look at your own life.
Maybe it's not as smooth sailing as this TV series, right?
I watched the whole series three times, but the more I watched, the more confused I became about what they were trying to portray. At first, I thought Wang Zi Wen was the female lead, but later I realized that Deng A-yi was the female lead. The earlier setup was all about being an assistant, but then suddenly Wu A-yi also wants to become a designer.
The theme got lost. The female lead goes through twists and turns no matter what she does, and it's all thanks to the assistant that she succeeds. It's not very realistic. Does that mean she wouldn't be able to accomplish anything without this assistant-turned-designer?
This drama is only worth watching for the celebrities, not for the storyline. The screenwriter has a huge plot hole in their head and lacks a deep understanding of the profession of designers.
They simply make things up. Designers are responsible for design and coordinating with the construction site, but they are not in charge of supervising the construction.
Any quality issues on the construction site are the responsibility of the contractor. The only time it becomes the designer's problem is when the actual construction deviates from the drawings and there was no coordination.
Please don't blame everything on the designer. It misleads the audience. Moreover, if the materials are purchased by the property owner, it has even less to do with the designer.
It tarnishes the design industry. Designers rely on intellectual work. It's not as simple as drawing a few pictures. There are now too many dramas depicting the role of designers.
I hope the screenwriters can take the time to understand the work of this profession before writing scripts. As a designer, our industry is already misunderstood by many people, and now we have these ignorant screenwriters misleading the audience.
It's truly harmful.
Old Wu is so confused. He just accepted being framed like that? Two pieces of evidence are not enough to prove his guilt. Firstly, he didn't hire the construction workers himself.
And secondly, without fully investigating the issue, they won't let him enter the house? They say they'll compensate without clarifying the matter? And they even released a video without fully understanding the situation.
Whose reputation will be damaged as a result?
Are the people complaining about this drama really never faced setbacks? Is your life always smooth sailing? If you enjoy watching everything go perfectly, then I advise you not to watch this drama. Because this drama is a realistic portrayal of life, not a glorified version.
Life is not as simple as it seems. If you feel frustrated and puzzled, it's because you're looking at it from a godlike perspective. But if it actually happened to you, your reaction might not be any better than others'.
My childhood friend is in this line of work. When they left the company in Beijing to start their own small studio, they weren't much better off than Jiang Tian. There's hardly any room for choice. At the beginning, they would take on any job as long as they were paid.
The homeowners in first-tier cities have a lot of demands, and in the first year, my friend ended up with myocarditis from working late nights. I may not be in this profession, so I might not fully understand, but this is what I've witnessed.
I used to think this drama had its merits, but in the last few episodes, I feel like the screenwriter's mind went off track. When it comes to the issue of water leakage in the rented apartment, shouldn't the tenants first approach the landlord?
It's unrealistic to relentlessly bother the newly moved-in tenants, and it's absurd to involve maintenance workers in inspecting their own homes. Why create unnecessary conflicts and tensions?
After watching over thirty episodes, I've been waiting for things to take a turn for the better, but nothing goes smoothly. I can't see any glimpse of hope. It's just like my own life. Even watching a drama makes me feel depressed and lose faith in life.
I should watch more shows that are full of positive energy.
Jiang Tian and Hu De Xiang are already on different paths, and it's common for people to have different perspectives in a society driven by personal connections. However, that doesn't mean it's right! Can't we first align our values before speaking?
Okay, it's understandable to say that surviving in a society driven by work is tough, regardless of right or wrong, as long as one can make money. I'm also one of those people. But shouldn't there still be a bottom line, especially for a creator?
If everything is based on personal relationships, what else can others rely on to compete? In the end, who has sacrificed more? I can understand Hu De Xiang's actions, but I don't accept the criticism of Jiang Tian for not knowing what's good for him.
The female lead has been facing constant hardships, being bullied and acting timidly. She could have proven herself, but she chose not to. The entire drama revolves around the female lead's timidity and numerous failures.
Despite her efforts, there are not many instances of success or plot twists. The female lead continues to feign kindness. The only drama where the female lead is both the director and the one sabotaging herself.
In the end, she doesn't achieve career success and ends up sacrificing herself for others. What is this? With so many conflicting plotlines, it's always the female lead acting timidly.
I can't help but leave a comment. This drama is truly heart-wrenching to watch! The last ten or so episodes were dragged out and fast-forwarded, with a scattered plot and no central focus. They set up the story and created multiple plot holes, but failed to fill in the last one, ending it hastily.
Some may argue that real life is like that, and it's true that the audience can handle a not-so-happy ending. However, what they can't accept is a plot with no development and an unclear resolution. It's a real shame considering the talent of several good actors!
